Author's POV
It was a late night; of course Madison was wide-awake. She was contently lying in the dark, the sound of the stillness was all she craved and thankfully she made peace with her demons.
She sighs softly, turning over and gazing at her lit clock.
4:00am.
It was far too early to do anything; she remembers as a child of her early hours lying in bed, unable to make a sound until the sun had casted her world to life.
She never was a happy child... Maybe that is why she secretly loved all the babying her parents showered her with. It was still a job adjusting to it all, but she wouldn't change it for the world.
She sighs once more, this time she builds the courage to get out of bed.
Deep down Madison felt like she had ruined the New Year for her family, if only she hadn't made such foolish mistakes. She still had strong feelings for Rita and has yet to face the older woman. She could feel the elephant in the room each time her and Kimberley made eye contact, it was something that had to be talked about... just.. not yet. She couldn't – she wouldn't.
I love this home. She mentally whispers, sighing softly.
It was the feeling of warmth that only ever flowed through her veins when she was in the presence of her mothers and sheltered in this beautiful home.
