Since Hoseok just lives across the street, my mom would always invite him for cookies during afternoon.

He'd enter our living room and immediately greet my mom with a bow.

He'd sit at the couch while I do my homework on the table.

Ailee would be sitting comfortably while fumbling with her play gadget on the couch across the ones Hoseok was sitting on. She wouldn't even bother to spare a glance at him ever since she confronted him at the dinner table.

But I also observed something else.

Hoseok.

His eyes were always looking across the room.

His gaze was so focused on one direction that when you try to look closely, it rarely diverts to anything else.

His attention was always fixed at something-- someone, rather.

The girl with the play gadget.

Hoseok's eyes were always at Ailee.
