Part 21

New Year celebrations were well and truly over and I was back in work mode. I stayed at Astons for two nights over New Year; it was nice just to spend some time with him after being in Africa for two weeks. Especially because seeing each other was going to be difficult because I'd had the two weeks off over Christmas I had a lot of shifts to get through, and promotion for the band was getting bigger and bigger.

I hadn't seen my work mates for nearly 3 weeks by now, and with Sara being so close, 3 weeks was a long time, I was dying for a catch up and I'm sure she'd be busy grilling me over our lunch break over what I got up to over new year's, I'm sure it was going to be the talk of the ward if anything got written in the press; Aston had warned me about it just in case.

Driving to work on a cold January's morning, the sun wasn't even completely risen yet which made me even more depressed that I had to get back into the routine of getting up so early and going off to work.

'Morning....' I smiled walking into the staff room on the ward

'Long time no see...how was Christmas...was Africa good?' one of my work mates asked

'Yeah...it was great thanks...' I smiled 'how was your Christmas?'

'Yeah it was great...went to my parents house...'

It wasn't long before I got stuck into work, and after a few hours it was as if I'd never been away, back to the normal jobs, back to rushing around like a blue arsed fly...but I did get a buzz of doing it, helping people, making them smile. Sara was nowhere to be seen, she was probably off running errands for someone, but I hadn't seen her all morning...

'Amelia you can go on your lunch break if you want...' my mentor smiled

'Ok...thank you...' I said going off back into the staff room grabbing my bag and walking down to the cafeteria to join the queue to get food

*Buzz Buzz*

*Morning gorgeous...hope your shift is going ok, miss you already, oh and have you seen heat magazine? X*

Before I had time to respond to the text message Aston had sent me, someone was shaking me from behind...

'Oh my god Sara...' I smiled throwing my arms around her

'ive missed you girl!...'

'Where have you been all morning?' I laughed

'Running around like a headless chicken...anyway enough about where I've been...looks like you got around on new year...' she laughed

'What?' I smiled moving up in the queue and grabbing a tray

'Heat magazine...?...you've not seen it have you...'

'No why...? I just got a text off Ast saying were in it...'

'Yeah...there's a three page spread...'

'Shit...' I stuttered

'Lets grab our food and then I'll show you it, I was reading it on my coffee break this morning and been dying to show you it...don't get upset by it though yeah?

'Ill try...' I sighed

I grabbed the food I wanted and quickly paid for it before sitting down at a table with Sara and she reached in her back for the magazine...

'Look...its not all bad...just don't freak out ok?...' she stuttered laying it down on the table

As I continued to turn the pages of the magazine, it was full of pages of celebrities all celebrating new year, in the UK and America. my eyes fixed on the title of the following pages headlines *Boyband Special*

'Looks like Aston Merrygold had a bit more fun than the rest of them when it came to seeing the new year in with a bang, were sure his most recent girlfriend 'Amelia' saw to that. Here are some exclusive photo's taken of the loved up couple on the night' I read and then glaced at some of the pictures. A few different ones of us entering the restaurant, then some leaving, then some on the roof top...and then I saw one picture that summed up the entire night for me...it was a picture of Ast and I kissing as the fireworks went off behind us at the stroke of midnight...'

'I love that picture' I smiled 'its not that bad a write up' I smiled

'Turn the page babe' she smiled awkwardly as I got a sudden horrible feeling in my stomach, like I was going to be sick...

'But we think Astons new girlfriend needs taming! Source's close to heat tell us that she partied a little too hard, now we now it was new year and were not party poopers, but her behaviour was just embarrassing...'

'how could they write that...they don't even know me...i..' I stuttered, tears forming as I continued to read on and glance over the different pictures.

'The new girlfriend sure knows how to party; at one point Rochelle was even seen picking her up off the floor after she'd fallen over pulling Aston down with her. And if that was embarrassing enough, later on in the evening she was spotted very inelegantly dancing on the table in her stripper like heels until Aston was forced to pull his uncontrollable girl off due to staring friends and family...its not our place to say but we'd be embarrassed to introduce her to our families...Astons had some bad girlfriends in his time but this must hit the top spot...bets on how long this relationship will last?'

'Oh my god...' I cried 'How can they write that...'

'Look hun...it's a loud of rubbish, you know that...'

'It doesn't stop them writing it though' I cried

*Buzz Buzz*

*Babe I only just read the article, look you know its rubbish and I'll make sure everyone knows that...call you later ok? X*

'Ast's just text me' I sniffled

'what did he say?...' Sara smiled

'Same as you...'

'Well there you go then...' she smiled

'Sara I cant go back onto the ward knowing people might have read about me...they called me a stripper....Sara im not a stripper...im a nurse...' I said, more tears escaping my eyes

I knew she didn't really know what to say, and I didn't feel I had the confidence to walk back onto the ward. If my boss saw this report it could get me fired...and all because some low life person hiding behind a desk needed to make some money...at mine and Astons expense...

'Have you seen what Ast's put on twitter?' Sara said.... 'its just come up on my timeline...'

'No...' I sniffled 'What?'

'@JLSOfficial the Media can stoop really low sometimes... @Amelia_Jane is the best thing that ever happened to me...what was published today is absolute rubbish and you guys know that....#NotTheONE'

She read aloud causing me to smile a little

'Show them your stronger than they thought....if anyone says anything we'll deal with it...'
