Sitting in the waiting chairs for hours on end whilst the doctors saw to Amelia, my heart was beating faster than ever and I still wasn't allowed to see her until she was table. This was all my fault, and I'd come away with the least damage, if only I hadn't taken my eyes off the road for a split second and driven safely none of this would have happened.

'Excuse me I'm looking for Amelia Cooper.....?' I overheard a middle aged man ask

Springing out of my seat and quickly walked up to him 'sorry are you Amelia's father?' I asked swallowing hard

'Yes I am are you her doctor?' He said looking down his noses at me

'No...I'm...I'm Aston'

'So your the one that caused my daughter to be hurt' he snapped

'No I...I really care about her...'

'Get out of my way, I need to see my daughter' he snapped again, pushing me to the side and walking into the cubicle she was in, the doctors not evens attempting to remove him. I felt so helpless, all I wanted was for Amelia to be ok...but it was out of my control.

.................................

'Sorry about snapping before...' Her dad suddenly said breaking the 60 minute silence in the waiting room

'Its ok...you were right, it's my fault...' I sniffed

'No it's not, it was a drunk driver...it could have happened to anyone...' He shrugged 'and I believe Amelia will be ok...' He smiled

'But...'

'Aston we have to stay positive'

'Amelia thinks a lot of you you know' I smiled, 'she's always talking about you'

'Really? What does she say?' He asked intrigued

'That she wishes you lived closer, and about how she had the best childhood she could have asked for'

'You know...I didn't think I would like you, not after cheating on my daughter. But your alright, Amelia thinks highly of you. You seem to make a lot of time for her, and I bet your job isn't easy...'

'Harder than you could ever imagine' I sighed thinking about the disadvantages of my job 'traveling all the time isn't ideal, I miss her a lot when I'm away'

'Sorty to interrupt, are you Amelia's family?'

'Yes' we shit up, waiting in anticipation for the doctors response

'You can go and see her now, she's still in the coma, but so far everything seems to be on track, but we will keep a close eye on her. We're going to keep her in the coma for 7 days and then slowly wake her up' she informed

'Ok thank you' I said breathing heavy, both of us walking towards her cubicle.

Seeing her covered with all these different wires broke my heart, she even had a machine that was keeping her breathing. She was completely lifeless, my beautiful girl...I couldn't bare to see her this way...
