A Wish

I wish you could see the girl I really am. Not the way I walk or the sway of my hair.

I wish you could notice my simple quirks, and flaws. Understand I'm only human not just some little toy doll.

I wish you could listen to the words I say. It's not an act or flirting, it's my voice emptying my mind to you.

I wish you feel the emotions that I portray. You tend to leave others broken, less of your thoughts, and using your body in no delay.

You don't need flowers or chocolates, muscles or money to touch my tender heart.

A poem or a song,  a simple gesture or a hand when I'm feeling down.

Can brighten a girl's soul, make her feel like she's won a crown.

I do have a secret, within this hidden heart. Special is more glorious than a flex of the arm.

I wish many things, and yet you still do not understand. Fragile I may seem, but my strength is rather grand.

I wish you were different, but I guess my mother is right.

A boy who cannot see straight, is better off left on stand by.
