Letting Go

I pretend it is I who feels the aisle beneath me.

I imagine what my world would be in her shoes, gleefully.

Or if an arm can come around me after all.

As the music begins to chime.

All my sorrow seems to unwind.

She comes out, mocking me.

As she smiles so wondrously.

I'm stone cold, and she's his shade of gold.

A love that soon grew way too old.

Now I'm here, one of the envious.

As they say "I do" I fake a smile to show I'm  generous.

Thunderous heart, broken down piece by piece.

A kiss that kills me most effortlessly.

She has the ring, yet he still has my heart.

But it's time for me to rise up, and make a new start.

I don't stay long, I simply let go.

I let God lead me, and go with His flow.

Keep my head up high.

There's no need to ask why.

I'll find a new heart, and get a new guy.

Someone who'll protect me.

Make my dreams into a reality.

A man with love that he'll share with me wholeheartedly.

A love that's immortal, in a body running out of time.

But no measure of time, can cut the distance we'll find.

Together an unbreakable combine.
