When I woke up my muscles hurt and my head pounded. Serena was already up and was cleaning the wounds she had gotten during the fight. For a moment or two I watched her and then I sat up and she looked over.

"Careful." She warns as I stand and I glance over at her. She was watching me carefully now and I flashed her a rare smile.

"Worried?" I ask and she scoffs. She turns back to her work and I move to the window. I catch her glancing up at me and raise an eyebrow. She rolls her eyes.

"The healer said to keep an eye on you." She says simply and I nod, not believing it for a second.

"Did he now? Well I can assure you, I'm fine." I say but as I move my arm pain runs through my forearm and I see the bandage wrapped around it. I grit my teeth against it and she raises an eyebrow.

"Are you alright?" she asks and I nod.

"Of course." I say and she rolls her eyes and finishes her work.

"It hasn't opened again, has it?" She asks and I shake my head. She nods and slides a dagger into her boot.

"Were are you going?" I ask and she smiles.

"We need food don't we? We still need to pay for staying here. I thought I'll ask the woman if she needs help around here as payment." She says and I stand to follow her. She raises an eyebrow. "Where do you think your going?" She asks and I shrug.

"You have a point. I might as well go see what kind of work I can get. Jaclyn isn't going to be able to leave for some time so might as well." I say and she shakes her head.

'Your hurt-" She starts and I interject.

"So are you." I state but she ignores me and continues on talking.

"Oliver said you needed rest and that's exactly what you're going to do." She says and I raise an eyebrow.

"And who is going to make me?" I ask and she crosses her arms over her chest and stands in front of the door.

"Me." She states and I laugh.

"I can take you in a fight with my eyes closed.' I say and she smirks.

"Why do I not believe that?" She asks and I frown.

"You doubt me?" I ask and she nods. I smirk and dart forwards and grab her wrist. She smirks and twists out of my grip and slides behind me, pinning my arm behind my back.

"I can predict the future." She says and I spin and pull her towards me. She goes with the motion and wraps her leg around mine and pulls it out from underneath me. I fall, hard and she manages to stay on her feet. Dazed I stare up at the ceiling and then her face appears over mine. "Still feel superior?" She asks and I roll my eyes and get to my feet.

"If you won't let me go find work then let me join you." I say and she shrugs.

"Alright but no sneaking off when my back is turned." She says and I nod.

"Of course." I say and with that we exit the room and go downstairs to find the woman talking with a gentleman. He looks up and recoils from us when he sees us. Serena doesn't pay any mind to it and nods at the woman who smiles brightly at her.

"How is your friend?" She asks and Serena hesitates before talking.

"She's as well as the injured get." She says and the woman's smile fades into a sad look of knowing.
