I had spent the night saying goodbye to everyone and then waiting for the sun to rise. They came to fetch me when the bells started to ring. I went without a fight, much to their surprise and as the king and his eldest son rode through the streets with confidence I held my head high and walked through the streets without a word or hesitation.

Most people who were sentenced to death would beg for their lives or try to get away only to be killed but I didn't see the point in begging or running. Either way I was going to be killed so I would face my death with my pride and dignity in tacked. I had defended this kingdom with my life and I would not let it see me break apart. As we approached the crowd they bowed, all except a small group of five people who all watched as I was led onto the platform from where I could see Shayne standing with them. They looked like they hadn't slept at all last night but I didn't blame them. I looked down at their faces and saw the sadness in all of them but I saw fire in them too. Shayne dismissed the guards sent to make them bow and I saw his father stiffen.

His brother's eyes glinted with hatred for his younger brother and I watched as he climbed onto the platform and stood next to me. The executioner knelt and a murmur ran through the crowd as they stood and the prince looked out at them. I locked eyes with Jason who stared right back at me and then Shayne began to speak.

"You all know you are here because my father and brother sentenced this girl, no, this woman, to death. What you don't know is that she is a hero, one of this kingdom's saviors to be exact." His voice carried easily in the silence but at his words everyone broke into whispers. I glanced at him and he stood still as his words rang through the crowd and I saw his fathers eyes grow wide. Silence fell again and again Shayne spoke. "I could not sleep last night for I spent it taking those who fought beside her to save this kingdom from destruction, to say goodbye to her and then I spent it thinking. I thought about what I could possibly do to save this young woman from death after she fought to save this kingdom. After she risked her life, and nearly died, to save my father's kingdom. Sadly I can't do anything to save her but I can tell you a story. I can tell you their story." He says, gesturing at the six of us, and his father stands.

"Get down from there before you make a fool of yourself!" He hisses but his son ignores him. The crowd watches him intently, wondering what the prince could possibly be doing, as he unties my hands and he nods at me.

"Show them." He whispers and I obey his orders. I lifted my hands so they faced upwards and I let the light pour from them. It swirled around me and there were cries of terror but also voices of awe and wonder at my power. Now the eldest prince was on his feet and he and his father were furious.

"Stop this!" They bark to the guards but they simply stand there in a mixture of horror and awe. Shayne turns to them with a smirk on his face.

"Afraid they'll turn on you?" He questions and his family glares at him. He turns to the crowd who are watching me and he speaks again. "She and five others with the abilities of fire, earth, water, invisibility and seeing, set off on a journey several weeks ago to fight the Enemy. They fought a great battle and they nearly lost but as you can see they were the ones victorious, thanks to this woman's power. My father sent me to inform them that he wanted to speak with them and I gave them the message and they came here last night as the sun set and the moon rose. I, myself, had just found out about my father's plans for this woman and I was not happy about it. They found out shortly after I did and they protected her until it became apparent that they would take her into custody with or without bloodshed. So she stepped forwards and she let them take her. I knew my father and brother wouldn't let her friends see her one last time so I let them see her last night without my families knowledge. Now they are here watching as their friend faces her death and they can't do anything to save her this time. But they can tell her story as I just did. They will remember this day for a very long time and as will I. This, good people, is my fathers fear of this woman who saved his kingdom as it was so long ago with the kings fear of the man who had helped protect his kingdom. This is the story repeating itself." Shayne says and the crowd was dead silent. He turned to me and I looked at him. "Do you have any last words?" He asks, his voice carrying and I nodded.
