Adam
I was in town with Joseph chopping wood for an elderly couple who could no longer cut their own wood. They wanted to pay us but we had made it clear we would take nothing they offered us and that we were helping them because we wanted to. Jason was at the blacksmiths working and as we finished we heard a horse coming down the street. We heard him laugh as we stacked the last of the wood and we looked up.
"You two are so very slow at stacking." He called and we laughed as we nodded goodbye to the old man and his wife and mounted our horses.
"Have you ever known us to be fast?" I ask and Jason shrugs.
"In the last ten years I haven't seen either of you do anything very fast but maybe those horses of yours could make up for your lack of speed." He challenges lightheartedly and we laugh.
"Is that a challenge?" Joseph asks and Jason shrugs.
"It could be. If you aren't afraid to take it." He says as we ride through the town. People wave at us as we pass by and then we were exiting the village and heading towards our homes.
"When have we been afraid of anything?" I ask and with that we take off racing towards our homes.

The children ran about outside while I sat outside with Lia. She was of child with her third child and Adam hadn't wanted to leave her tonight. The sun was low and cast its light across everything. Jaclyn came outside with her daughter, Emerald. Her son, Oliver called to his sister who ran to his aid and together they chased around the other children.
"Those two are going to be the death of me." Jaclyn said as she sat down with us and we laughed.
"You said that about Jason." Lia says and Jaclyn smiled.
"He has calmed down but his son takes after him. he doesn't keep still for very long but he means well." She says and I watch as my son ducks behind a bush and then jumps out and scares Emerald. She shrieks and we laugh. Oliver runs to her aid and he and Mason duel with sticks they had found and pretended were swords. As they fought we saw three horses racing towards the cottage and the three of us stood as our husbands raced each other home.
"Children! Come here!" We call and the eight children run up and stand with us as their fathers barrel towards the house. Jason was in the lead and as they barreled towards the stables he let out a yell and his children shouted back. Jaclyn smiled and he disappeared into the stables and reappeared moments later. His son and daughter raced to meet their father who swept them up into his arms and they laughed. Moments later Adam and Joseph came up and tied their horses to the rail and the children raced to their fathers who laugh and hug them. As Jason released his children he walked over and looked up at us.
"Ladies, how are you this evening?" He asks and we smile at him.
"We are well." Jaclyn replies and he grins.
"Good." He says and pulls her into an embrace. Suddenly thee were arms around me and I yelped. Joseph chuckled behind me and the children raced inside.
"Dinner's ready." Lia says and we led the three men inside and take our places at the table.
Jason
After dinner the children played outside in the dying light and he six of us sat on the porch and talked.
"Have you told them about their powers yet?" Lia asks and I shake my head.
"No we want them to have the chance to be children while they can. We'll tell them when their older." I say and Jaclyn nods.
"We haven't either." Joseph says and Lia nods.
