When we stopped to rest the sun was still down. Lia had fallen asleep as had Serena, and Jaclyn. Serena stirred when we stopped and stayed awake long enough to dismount and lay down. Joseph chuckled and tied the horse to a sapling. I woke Lia and helped her dismount before tying my horse up and she laid down near Serena and fell asleep again. Joseph had helped Jason with Jaclyn and laid her down near the other two as Jason tied his horse up.

"They must be tired." Jason says and I nod.

"We all are." I say and he shrugs.

"That's true." He says and we sit near the girls.

"How is her side?" Joseph asks and Jason nods.

"It bothers her I think but as far as I can tell it's healing fine." He says and I look over at her.

"At least she listens to you. Unlike some people." I say looking at Joseph who shrugs and looks over at the girls.

"I can't do nothing." He says and Jason nods.

"That's understandable." He says and we fall silent. I looked around me and sighed as I remembered my life before I met them. Joseph gives me a knowing look.

"Do you miss it?" He asks and I frown, caught off guard and still lost in thought.

"Miss what?" I ask and he gestures around us.

"Your life. Living out here on your own." He says and I fall silent for a few moments. Then I nod.

"Yes. I miss my life but if I was given the chance to go back and change what happened that day, I wouldn't." I say and Jason cocks his head to the side.

"Why's that?" He asks and I look over at Lia.

"Because then I would have never met her. None of this would have happened because do we forget who saved your asses when we met?" I ask and they laugh.

"How can we forget? You had us jump of a cliff!" Joseph says and I laugh.

"This is true." I admit. We fall silent and it stretches out for several minutes before I break it. "What about you? Do you miss your old life?" I ask and Joseph looks up. He thinks for a moment and shakes his head.

"I was a blacksmith and everyone was terrified of me. I liked it once, now, I'm not sure if I could go back to that." He says and Jason nods.

"I get that. I am certainly giving up finding people and finding a truthful way to make my living once everything is done and over with." He says and I look over at Jaclyn.

"That's good. She needs someone who's not constantly putting themselves in danger." I say and Jason looks up at me, something swimming just beyond the surface. Joseph nods in agreement and we all fall silent.

"This has been a rather interesting journey." Joseph muses quietly and we nod.

"One we won't ever forget." I add and they nod.

"Do we forget? It's not over yet. We have to put up with each other for a few more days before it is completely over." Jason says and we nod. Joseph grins and looks at him.

"Just don't go and try to die on us and we'll be fine." He says and Jason lets out a short laugh.

"I'll see what I can do." He says and we laugh. Serena stirs and looks up at us sleepily.

"Be quiet you three or go get a room." She grumbles and then goes back to sleep. We chuckle and then Joseph hits the hay and Jason and I fall silent for quite some time. The moon rose high in the sky and when it started to sink down below the horizon Jason went to sleep and I stayed awake until the sun started to replace the darkness of the night with the light of day.
