*Garroth's POV*
~The Next Day~

OhmyIrene, ohmyIrene, ohmyIrene! I'm engaged! To Laurance- my long-term crush! This is so freaking surreal!

It feels like a dream- a rather long dream. One that, you never want to wake up from. Everything just feels...right. Perfect.

Now, it's only a matter of time before everything comes crashing down.

I can hope for it to not happen, as much as I want. However, it's almost inevitable at this point. Something is bound to go wrong. It always does.

But, we always bounce back from our mistakes. So, hopefully, we can continue with that trend. All that stands before us, is the unforeseeable future. Right now, we're in the present. It's better to cherish what is happening know; rather than await in fear of the future.

Damn, I get really physolpihal when I'm eccentric.

"Hey, Love, you're up early, again," Laurance greeted me, as he made his way over to the couch- where I was seated.

"H-Hiya, Laurance," I smiled, before returning to the book I had been reading.

"Last night wasn't a dream, right?" He asked, with concern, sitting beside me.

I shook my head, holding up my hand- where an engagement ring now was. Laurance chuckled, kissing my cheek. I laid my head on his shoulder, continuing the page I left off on.

It was quiet- but, not an awkward silence. More of a... peaceful atmosphere. It was nice, and comforting. Everything just feels...better, when we're together. I wonder if he feels the same...

"So, how should we tell everyone- that we're engaged?" Laurance asked me, running his hand through my hair.

There's one of the obstacles I had been expecting.

"I-I dunno... Maybe, we should split it up- like, when we came out that we were dating?"

"Sounds fair...who should we tell first, then?"

"Family- specifically yours," I instantly replied- remembering his parents' reactions to us saying we were together. "Then, my brothers...and maybe then my parents. Afterwards, of course, Aphmau; Dante; Travis; Katelyn; and all of our other friends."

"Wow, Garroth. You've had this planned out, huh?" Laurance laughed, planting a kiss on the top of my head.

"I'm just going about this logically, Laurance," I rolled my eyes, giggling. "Something you can never do."

"Excuse me?" Laurance held a hand to his heart, pretending to sound offended. "You don't mean that, Love. Do you?"

I giggled more, moving my body closer to his. I nodded, pulling my fiancé into a hug. It's so weird to refer to Laurance as that, even if it is just in my head. Fiancé. Never thought I'd refer to anyone in that regard- especially Laurance...

It's nice...

*Laurance's POV*

A buzzing in my pocket, interrupted our embrace. I pulled out my phone, to see that I had a text from Aphmau.

Aphmau: Yo, Laurance! 😋

You: Hey, Aph. What's up?

Aphmau: Have you taken my advice yet~? 😚

I turned to look at Garroth- who was once again, into whatever book he was reading. I tapped his shoulder, and he turned to look at me.

"Can we make a tiny adjustment to your plan?" I asked, chuckling quietly to myself.

"How?" He rose an eyebrow, a tiny blush creeping on his face.

"Can I tell Aphmau, like, right now?"

Garroth blinked a few times, looking at the phone- then, back up at me. His blush darkened, before he grabbed the phone from my hands. I tried to grab it back, but he merely shook his head.

Next thing I knew, Garroth had pressed a few buttons- and held my phone up to his ear. I tried to grab it from him, but he had pushed me away slightly.

"Hello, Laurance?" I heard Aphmau's voice through the speaker.

"Hm?" Garroth glanced at me, smirking. "No, this isn't Laurance. This is his fiancé speaking."

Ohhh...

It was dead silent for a moment. Garroth removed the phone from his ear, hitting a button. He handed it back to me- standing up, and walking towards the door.

"Where are you going?" I rose an eyebrow, standing up.

Suddenly, the sound of furious knocking banged on the front door. Garroth opened it up, to reveal a disheveled Aphmau. Her long hair wasn't brushed yet, and she was still wearing her pajamas. She looked up at Garroth, a giant grin plastering her face, as she enveloped him in a big hug.

"CONGRATS, GARROTH! OH MY IRENE, I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! I AM HAPPY FOR YOU BOTH!" Aphmau was almost screaming at this point.

I laughed quietly, crossing my arms and shaking my head. Once Aphmau finally released Garroth, she ran over to give me a hug as well... I may or may not, have started to lose oxygen.

"LAURANCE, YOU ACTUALLY DID IT! AND HE SAID YES! I TOLD YOU MY ADVICE WOULD WORK! YOU TOTALLY USED IT, DIDN'T YOU?! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! CONGRATULATIONS!"

Garroth walked back over to us, gesturing Aphmau to release me from her lethal grip- which she thankfully did. We spent the rest of that morning chatting, before seeing Aphmau off.

After Aphmau started her trek back home, I turned back to my fiancé. He looked up at me, with his radiating eyes- that never cease to entice me.

"So, when do you want to invite my family up, hm?"

"Whenever, is fine. I don't mind," he replied, standing up on his tip-toes to peck a kiss on my lips.

"I love you, Beautiful."

And now, I get to be with you forever. Nothing is going to change that...
