Chapter 11: Sick or Nightmare?

*Garroth's POV*
~The Next Day~

Ow...my head...

I woke up with a start, my head hurting immensely. The world around me was spinning, and I felt like I would vomit at any moment. Holding onto my stomach, I sat up on the bed.

Letting out small sobs, I felt around me. That was when I felt a body, laying down beside me. Laurance... I reached around for his hand, holding onto it. He always gave me comfort, when I needed it...

"Garroth? Are you alright?" I heard him ask.

"L-Laurance..," I choked out, through sobs.

"Garroth, Love, what's wrong?"

I felt movement from beside me, and soon felt Laurance's arms wrap around me. I stared out at the spinning world, my cries slowing down.

"I...don't feel...well..." I honestly stated, leaning back into him.

Laurance's hands brushed over my forehead, and cheek. I heard a small sigh escape his lips, before feeling a kiss planted on the top of my head. I moved my body closer to Laurance, closing my eyes- in an attempt to relieve the pain.

"W-what time is it?" I asked.

It was silent for a moment, before he spoke up. "Four in the morning."

"I'm...sorry for waking you up..."

"It's okay, Love. This wasn't the first time... I'm here for you, okay?"

"Yeah...I know..."

~Flashback~

I woke up, in a panic. My heart racing, and my chest burning. I held a hand over my heart, looking around the room. Unwillingly, a small yelp escaped my lips.

Damn it! You're going to wake someone up, Garroth. Just go back to bed...

But, I can't go to bed...I can't go back into that nightmare...

"Garroth, are you okay?"

You woke someone up! Good job, idiot.

"Garroth..."

Blinking my eyes a few times, the world cleared up to me. Someone was now seated in front of me. Oh, great...

After adjusting to the lighting, I saw that it was Laurance. Of course, I woke my crush up! Of all the people the people in the room.

And by all the people...there's only three. Dante; Travis; and Laurance. We were having a sleepover at my place. Vylad was down here too, but he's a heavy sleeper; Zane refused to join us. But, he's just antisocial. So, that's understandable.

"L-Laurance..? Did I wake y-you? I'm s-sorry," I hastily apologized, bringing my knees up to my chest.

"Garroth? Did you have a nightmare or something?" Laurance's voice flooded with concern, as he moved closer to me.

Oh, my brain is doing the flustered thing again. Damn it, Laurance. Why do you do this to me?

"N-no..," I lied, laying my head in between my knees.

Laurance gave me a 'really' look, before crawling beside me. He put his arm around my shoulder, and just sat there- in complete silence. The only sound I could hear, was my loud heartbeat.

Why can't I just be a normal teenage boy?! Why do I have to have an obsessive crush, on my best friend! My straight best friend, to be exact! One, that I don't even have a chance with.

I have a better chance, getting with Dante, then I do Laurance! But, I don't feel like that towards Dante. No idea why. He just never interested me, in any romantic sort of manner. Of course, his brother did...and of course, his brother had to be a complete jerk...

Gene...

Would you be surprised, if I told you my nightmare was about the one and only- Gene? My ex-boyfriend? Yeah, me neither... It's been happening a lot, recently... I don't know why...

"Garroth, you know you can talk to me. Friends, are supposed to be there for each other. You know?" Laurance spoke quietly, turning my head to make me face him.

If I had any sort of confidence at all, I would kiss him right here and now. But, key word was 'if'...

"I-I know..," I sighed, shifting around in his grasp. "Laurance... I'm sorry for waking you..."

"It's fine. You didn't even really wake me. I basically sleep with one eye open," Laurance quietly chuckled.

I put a smile on, turning back to face him. He always knew how to make me smile... I freaking love him... Why did I put myself into this situation?

I'm just setting my heart up, to get crushed...

~Flashback Over~

"Did you have a nightmare?" Laurance asked, still cradling me in his arms.

"Honestly, no...I just feel really freaking sick," I replied, opening my eyes a little.

"Don't worry, Love. I'll take care of you..."

"You don't have to... But, I know, no matter what I say, you're going to do it, anyways. So, no point in arguing."

"You know me all too well, Love," Laurance laughed a little, caressing my cheek.

"...Well, my dear Laurance, that is what you call...being in love with someone," I smiled, opening my eyes fully.

The world had stopped spinning, but minor amounts of pain remained. But, I felt a little better...

"Aww....you are adorable, babe," Laurance leaned down, giving me a small kiss on the forehead.

I am so lucky, to have someone like you...

Having you with me, is the best dream come true...
