Chapter 18: Worst Shopping Trip

*Garroth's POV*
~1 Week Later~

"Laurance! We need to go shopping!"

Laurance cocked his head, raising an eyebrow. He crossed his arms, looking me over. "Why? We don't need anything."

"Because~!" I ran over to my fiancé, grabbing his forearms. "Uh...we need to uh...buy socks?"

He looked down at me, shaking his head. Laurance let out a small chuckle, softly caressing my cheek. Why do you have to turn every moment into a cute one, Laurance? That's some strange power, you hold...

"We don't need any socks, Garroth."

"Yes we do! Look at this!"

I pulled away from Laurance, crouching down. I pulled off one of my socks, tossing it over to some random side of the room. I stood up, holding the sides of Laurance's head.

"Did you see that?! My sock just fell off!" I exclaimed.

"Scandalous, Love," Laurance chuckled some more, pecking my cheek. "But, seriously...what do we need to go shopping for?"

Don't let him know, Garroth! It's a surprise!

Why can't we just leave him here?

Actually...that's a good idea. Didn't think of that one...

What should we tell him we're going to buy..?

He's staring you down. Give him an answer. And, try to control your pitch. He can catch onto your lies.

"...Fine, fine..," I put on a small smile, dropping my hands. "...I'm going to go buy some cupcakes. You don't have to come-"

"Are you kidding me?! Of course I'm going to come! Knowing you, you'll probably spend most of our money on like...twenty boxes of cupcakes! So, I'm going, just to moderate you!"

Oh, no! What do we do?!

Just let him come. He'll be suspicious, if we say no, now...

How are we going to buy, what we want?!

We'll go to the grocery store, first. Then, send Laurance home with the sweets. We'll tell him, that Aphmau had asked us to grab something for her, and she specified no one else is supposed to know about it...

"Okay, Laurance. You can come, I suppose," I rolled my eyes, taking his hand. "But, you drive."

"What's new?"

*Laurance's POV*

We arrived at the grocery store, and Garroth took off down some aisle. I shook my head, walking after him. Geez, what has gotten into him today? He's been acting more off, than normal.

I decided him, to let him be. I prodded at some stuff, mostly observing. That was, until I heard someone say my name...

"Laurance~Kun?"

Please be Kawaii~Chan. Please be Kawaii~Chan...

I turned around, to be faced with a Meif'wa. Unfortunately, not the Meif'wa I wanted it to be... Yup...

"Michi?!" I exclaimed.

I looked over the purple haired cat-girl. Her light green eyes widened with delight, as she clapped her hands together. I was silently wishing at this moment, that I hadn't have come.

"Oh, Laurance~. Michi hasn't seen you in such a long time~," Michi's black tail, swung behind her, as her ears perked up. "She has missed you~"

"It's...great to see you too, Michi..."

It's horrible to see you! Quick, make a break for it!

No! We have to be adults. Go about this, in a fashioned manner.

But she's crazy!

We haven't seen her since High School. Who knows? She could have changed...

We'll have to see...

*Garroth's POV*

I observed my surroundings, looking for the sweets section. I wanted to buy some cupcakes, and send Laurance on his way, as fast as I could manage. That way, I could get it sooner.

Luckily, I found it almost instantly. I hastily searched through the shelves; grabbing the first, reasonably priced box, I could find. I was about to go reunite with Laurance, when I heard an incredibly high-pitched voice from behind me.

"Gareth? Is that you?"

Oh. Dear. Irene. Please, save me, now.

I tried to pretend like I didn't hear anything. But, that failed when I felt someone tapping on my shoulder. Hesitantly, I turned to look at the owner of the voice. She had a head of bubblegum pink hair, and these blue eyes. I recognized her instantly.

"Oh, Garith? Is that actually you? Gareth Ro'Mave?" She asked, looking up at me.

Yes! I'm taller than her, now. Uh...anyways...

"H-hey, Ivy...is that you?"

"Oh, Garith! It's been far too long! It's amazing to see you!

Laurance, please save me...
