Chapter 14: You Promised...

*Garroth's POV*

"Everyone..," Laurance started, smiling at our group of friends. "...Garroth and I are getting married."

Suddenly the crowd erupted into screaming and cheers, and a roar of congratulations. Lots of hugs were given, and everything felt great. All of my nerves washed away, and I felt at ease.

Everything would be fine.

"Congrats Garroth, Laurance," Dante smiled at us. "Laurance, nice to see that you actually did it."

At least Vylad didn't tell him, and kept it a surprise.

"Told you it would work," Laurance chuckled, looking in-between Dante and I.

What would work?

"You got me there, bro," Dante laughed, patting Laurance's shoulder. He turned to look at me. "Can I see the ring?"

I nodded, holding out my hand. Dante took a hold of it, examining my ring finger. Lucinda came up to my side, looking over it herself.

"Looks good, Laurance," Lucinda giggled, looking over at Laurance, then back to me. "Garroth, honey, that's lovely. You got a real keeper on your hands."

I could feel a bit of heat rise up to my face. I mouthed a 'thank you', and continued some small talk with everyone.

"Well, that was something alright," I laughed a little, as Laurance and I made it home. "Not what I expected."

"I really wanted her to be pregnant," Laurance playfully huffed, crossing his arms.

"Why?" I laughed some more, taking his hand in mine.

"So I could say, 'I told you so'," Laurance shook his head, laughing along with me.

"Cute."

"I know you are."

I playfully hit his shoulder, letting go of my fiancé's hand. I strolled over to our couch, and gestured Laurance to follow me- which he did.

"I love you, Laurance. You make me smile."

"You are adorable hun," Laurance kissed the top of my head, throwing his arm around my shoulder. "I love you, too. You make me smile as well."

*Gene's POV*

"Are you sure about this, Gene?" Zenix asked, standing beside me.

"Yeah...I guess it's the right thing to do," I was almost choking on my own words.

"Gene..," Zenix crossed his arms, shaking his head. "...No wonder Sasha didn't want to come..."

"What do you mean?" I turned to face him, raising an eyebrow.

"Nothing, Gene...I'm gonna go wait by the road. Just get this over with," Zenix partially mumbled, walking off.
