(A/N: i haven't updated in ages, i apologize)

*Maria's POV*

His father?! He chose his father over me?! Figures, guys are pretty stupid. And he's even more idiotic if he thinks that i'm just going to drop everything and follow him.  Trust me, i've done that whole chase-after-Robin-like-a-dog bit before and i'm not going to fall into it again. Maybe that's just what he wants; me to follow him to see if i really care about him. Guys always need reassurance don't they? I wouldn't really know.

I don't know what it is with the male brain and the constant craving for revenge and asserting their dominance over others but it was starting to get on my nerves.

"How was the date? Was it romantic? Was it everything you've ever imagined?" Miss Heliotrope bombarded me upon my entrance. I ruffled my hands through the slightly torn lace at the hem of my dress from Loveday and kept my eyes glued to the floor. It really would be an awful idea to tell Miss Heliotrope about Robin's dumb decision to hike after his horrendous father, but i really needed to rant.

"He left me." I made a grand gesture with my hands as i sighed in frustration.  "He said he had some sort of vendetta against his father for shooting him and absolutely had to get his revenge." I stomped up the large marble staircase expecting for Miss Heliotrope to follow, which she did.

"Thats absolutely absurd." She agreed, picking up the hem of my dress so that it didn't drag across the ground behind me. I could almost feel her exasperated look as she glanced over the torn and dirtied ends of my dress. I ignored it. "So what does this mean? You and him are done? Through? It would be such a shame after all you've gone through."

           "Absolutely not." I scoffed.

"So then what does this mean?" She looked worried, but didn't she always?

"This means i'm going to go after him."

             "Oh dear."

*Robin's POV*

You think i really wanted to leave Maria? After all I had gone through to get her in the first place? You bet your ass i didnt!

I'd rather be sitting on that picnic blanket in the woods just babbling about the forrest and how the animals absolutely adored Maria and try to tell her facts as she'd nod along even though she knew them already because she was terribly smart. But, no, if i wanted to make sure that Maria is safe so that we can do all those things, then i had to get rid of my father for good.

I skillfully maneuvered through the tangled branched encompassed with thorns along the path. I couldn't help but notice the tactfully placed feathers that fell along the dirt path that I followed. If i were anybody else then i probably wouldn't have even noticed the feathers because of the nonchallant nature of there placing, but i'm not just anyone. I'm Robin De Noir who wears feathers at his throat, who names the woods as his home, who knows every inch of these woods forwards and backwards. I don't know where my father is, but i know this wasn't coincidental.

"I didn't think you'd be walking so easily after that nasty shot you suffered back there..." A voice snickered in the dark. "I didn't even think you'd survive." The words twisted and writhed like lethal smoke.

"Stay the hell away from that castle." I threatened into the shadows. There was a dark, maniacal chuckle before my father stepped from the shadow that guarded him. His face had been contorted into a grin as he twirled the pistol around his fingers.

"Oh, dear boy, i should be saying the same thing to you."

Just then i saw a flash of that damn blue ribbon in the bush behind my father. Next i saw Maria's face, her finger up to her lips to tell me to stay quiet. I had to suppress my look of disdain so i didn't give away her position. "She's much stronger than you think, Dad." I grit my teeth because i knew what this was all about.

"That's why i want you no where near her, Robin. She's nothing but trouble!"

"Well, isn't that what we are, Dad, we are the troubled ones!" I growled. "Dad, I love her!" My heart cramped a little.

"Say that again and i'll shoot a damn hole in your skull, boy." He threatened.

"I love her and there's nothing you can do." I stood there with my jaws clenched because i knew he wasn't bluffing. He pointed his pistol at my skull and i knew he wouldn't miss. His finger twitched on the trigger and i clenched my eyes shut. Well, at least i'd die with the truth known.

"Pathetic." He went to pull the trigger when he let out a loud yelp instead. I opened my eyes and tried to take in the sight before me. Maria, a large chef's knife cluched in her taut fists, stood next to my father who was crippled to the floor clutching where his hand had once been.

"You son of a bitch!" He bellowed.

"Yeah." Maria said sarcastically. "That sounds about right."
