*Robin's POV*
By now, the scarf that was around my arm was a thicker and darker red than it should have been. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it because then Maria would worry. And trust me, no one wants to see Maria worry because then all hell breaks loose. She will watch you like a hawk to make sure you're okay, which I'm not complaining about.... Okay maybe a little. But, can you blame me? Having someone worrying about your location and your well being all the time is new to me. I've been on my own for a while now and it's weird having a partner now. So basically, I toughed it out.

We had no idea where we were going, we just wanted to get away from everything. "Stop here." I told her. A small stream of water made it's was through rocks of varied sizes down the small hill.

"Why?" She looked at me curiously and a little annoyed. I have a feeling she wanted to just get out of the woods as fast as she could.

"I'm thirsty." I made up a fake excuse. But in reality, my arm was throbbing and burning. That wasn't a good sign. It was probably infected and gross, but I couldn't tell Maria that. I sat down on a low, rounded rock and sighed. I dipped my hands in the running water and splashed some of it on my face to wash away dirt and my tiredness, without success on the tiredness part. I was still exhausted and I was starting to think that the dark bags underneath my eyes were permanent, they looked like black and blue bruises.

"If you're trying to wash away your ignorance, it isn't working." She said sarcastically and sat beside me. "That's more of a multiple wash thing." She smiled widely.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever, deny your love for me." I smirked and she pretended to gag.

"Yeah, in your dreams."

"How'd ya know?!" I played along though my head began to pound. Oww. It actually did hurt pretty badly now and I bit my lip so I wouldn't wince as I unwrapped the scarf.

"I'll do it." Maria took the end of the scarf from my hand.

"Are you sure? After hearing what you called me after the little bit of blood on your dress, I don't think I can take any more verbal abuse." I continued to joke.

"Oh, please. How bad could it be, right?" She seemed confident.

"Fine, but I'm warning you now, if you barf on me, our love will officially be gone."

"I think I can handle that." She smiled and began to unwrap the scarf again. She really gagged after seeing the thick, crimson blood smeared heavily across my arm. "Oh my goodness!" She squawked and jumped back. "Nope you were right, I can't handle it." She closed her eyes and moved away from the blood.

"And suddenly I don't feel so good." I held my head, hoping the pounding would go away.

"Woah, are you okay? You got really pale, like a ghost."

"Just a little dizzy, nothing big." I smiled, though I felt like I was going to pass out, and then I did. I didn't remember much after that.

*Maria's POV*
He lay on the rocks in front of me, unconscious. I had no idea what to do, I've never experienced anything like this before, nor had I ever wanted to.

"Robin," I shook him by his shoulders gently then more violently when he didn't respond. "Robin! Wake up!" I searched his face frantically for any sign of him waking up. He wasn't.

I took his bloodied scarf from on the ground near me and closed my eyes tight. I took a deep breath and tried to face my fears. I tied the scarf around his arm really tight and tried to make tourniquet. Knowing he wouldn't wake up just from the tourniquet, I slapped his face pretty hard.

"Ow!" He yelled at me then looked at the scarf and repeated himself with more emphasis.

"Well, sorry." I said sassily. "You were losing a lot of blood so I had to block the blood flow."

"How do you know how to make a tourniquet? Are you like a secret wilderness woman?"

"No, I just read a lot."

"How much is 'a lot'?" He looked at me suspiciously.

I looked around trying to find the right word for it. " a lot." Obviously I couldn't find a good enough word.

"Well," he flashed one of his brief (but handsome) smiles. "Thank you for stopping my bleeding."

"It was my pleasure." I smiled back, washing my hands in the small stream. "But you owe me..."
