Be Not So Fearful

It's been a while since our return from Neverland. Today I sat in the library after doing my job. I was reading a book on magic and next to me, a dictionary of Latin to English. I wanted to learn magic so I could protect Mackenzie from any harm that comes her way. I put down the book then picked up the dictionary. It was quite a simple language for me, really. "Hot damn." I said.

My phone buzzed. I had to go to school.
I took the two books with me. "Going to school Belle, see you later!" I waved, she waved back. I ran to school. Kenzie had an eye appointment so she wasn't going to be there.

The beginning of the day was a bore but during Art class I had to sit next to Melissa... AGAIN. Ugh. "So you're dating Kenzie?" She said, she seemed jealous or something. "Yes, and don't try to make any moves. Nothing will tear us apart." I tried to shut her up.

"I won't. But... obviously you're dating her only for good grades." She smirked and took her phone out. "Should I text bomb the entire school about it?"

"Why would you do that?" I asked, a little panicked. Why would she spread rumours? "Because Wicked always wins." She said and sent the message.

"Gimme that!" I said we stood up and I tried to take her phone. During art many people stand and do their projects. I got ahold of it and looked at the message after turning around away from her. Melissa turned me around and kicked me where it hurts most.

"Ow!" I said and fell on my knees. I held that spot and winced in pain. I dropped her phone and she picked it up. "I told you, Wicked always wins Alex." She went to her friend Paige.

I'm just hoping no one will believe her.
For Gym I basically hung out with Ethan the whole time. After it was lunch, and I decided to go for a walk around the school.

Some 10th grade jerks were picking on a short kid in 6th grade wearing a blue tuque. As I got closer they pushed him over. I ran to them. "Hey pick on someone your own size!" I told them and stood in front of the kid, who was behind me. "There's not gonna be any wolves in this school!" The 10th grader said. He pushed me over too.

I got a scrape on my arm. I got right back up and tackled him. "Leave him alone! Got it?!" I shouted. We got up and the jerks walked away.

I went to the kid. It was Jasper, but I had never spoken to him before. "Are you alright?" I asked. He was sitting, holding his legs close.

"Be not so fearful. Be not so frail."
I said.

He slowly looked to me with tears in his eyes. "Why is the wolf always the bad guy?" He asked.

I knelt down to him. "You're not a villain!" I said. "That's what they tell me I am." He replied "Well you aren't. Don't let them judge you for your ability." I said "They mainly judge me for my ears." Jasper said.

"Why? What's wrong with them?" I asked. His eyes teared up again and he looked away. "I'm sorry," I said "I didn't mean to-" he got up, picked up his bag and ran away from me. I stood and sighed. Poor troubled soul.

Last block I took out my phone and texted Mackenzie. Later me, Ethan, Ashley, Isabella and Summer were going to her house after school to see her.

Me: Hey how are you? Can't wait to see you later!

Kenzie💜: Aww you are so sweet! Yeah, everything is great. I can't wait til' after school

Me: I love you Kenz

Kenzie💜: Love you too

By the time school was over. The five of us walked to Kenzie's house. If Mrs. Blanchard's car was bigger she could've drove us, but none of us wanted to walk alone. Jordyn met us there and we walked in laughing about Ethan is so full of himself about his muscles.

Ashley put her bag down "Hey Kenz." She said. "Hey, how was school?" She asked. Each of us exchanged slightly worried looks. "Should we tell her?" Ethan asked. "Tell me what?" She said.

I said down next to her on the couch and held her hand. Our fingers intertwined with each other.
"Melissa was saying that I was only dating you for good grades from your mother." I said softly.

"But we all know that isn't true!" Isabella exclaimed. I looked back at Kenzie "I love you because of who you are, Mackenzie." I said and squeezed her hand a little.

Saying nothing, she angrily got up and stormed out the door. We all stared blankly after she closed it. What could Mackenzie be up to?
