Seven was sleeping on the couch in the lounge room. You sat on your chair in your bedroom, reading Grace for the second time this week. Since Seven was in the lounge room, you couldn't get your laptop or watch T.V without waking him up. Your phone ran out of battery a while ago, so you resigned to reading under your lamp. You closed the book. You looked around your bedroom. Your neat, wooden bookshelf was pressed against the wall next to your lamp. The lamp had a white and gold shade with floral print and soft, golden tassels. Your chair was a woven armchair with yellow-orange cushions. Your bedhead was pressed against your feature wall. The feature wall was orangey-red which faded into white at the edges where it touched the ceiling or the other walls which were all white. It had three canvases above the bed. They showed a sunset at a beach. They all had separate parts of the same photo. The bed was a luxurious king double with a pale red duvet. The duvet had golden stitching in small bursts all over the bottom but less at the top. Your wardrobe sat against the same wall as your door. The wardrobe was a glossy white. One door was open slightly, revealing your clothes inside. You walked over and closed it softly. You turned around, and looked out the window. A humanoid shadow dashed across the glass. You cried out, thinking for a horrible moment that your nightmare was coming true.

"What's going on?" Seven yawned as he leaned against your doorframe. You hadn't yelled loudly, but obviously loud enough to wake Seven.

"S-sorry," you fumbled for an excuse, "I just stubbed my toe."

"Why weren't you asleep?" He asked as he pulled a shirt over his head.

"I woke up. Plain old insomnia," you lied, "Nothing you can do about it."

"[Y/N]," Seven rubbed his temple, "Cut the bullshit already. Something is upsetting you and I can't help you unless you're honest with me."

"I-I'm not upset." You stuttered over a pain in your throat.

"Then why are you crying?" He asked softly. You felt your face tentatively with outstretched fingers. Silent tears were spilling down your cheeks. You closed your eyes and let your hands fall to your sides. "I died," you lowered your head, "You died." You felt Seven's strong arms around you, warm and reassuring. You sobbed into his shoulder and gripped his shirt. After a while, you had calmed down enough to talk. You let go of Seven's shirt and looked up at him. He looked down at you in a way that made butterflies flutter in your stomach. "Do you want to tell me what happened?" He spoke softly and gently. You nodded meekly. Seven picked you up bridal style and sat on your bed with you on his lap. After he sat down, he didn't let go of you. You were fine with that. You felt weak and frail. You took a deep breath and started to tell him about the nightmare.

"And then a shadow dashed past my window so I yelled. I thought my nightmare was coming true." You finished. Seven pulled you closer and kissed your cheek softly. "I think I have an idea [Y/N]." He told you. You closed your eyes, feeling tired and exhausted. "Hmm?"

"I'll hold you like this and you can sleep knowing that I am safe and you are safe."

"Uh huh." You nodded slightly.

"Goodnight [Y/N]." He kissed each of your closed eyelids, and you fell into a dreamless sleep.
