Drying your hair was more difficult than normal, thanks to the fact you kept dozing off in the shower. Yawning loudly, you sat on the lounge in your pyjamas attempting to dry your hair. Two weeks ago, you went to the restaurant with everyone from the RFA. Ever since, you have caught up with everyone, everyone except Seven that is. He hasn't replied to a single one of your texts. Every time you call, you are only greeted with his answer phone. On Christmas day, you had gone to his house to drop off a Christmas card and when you rang the doorbell, there was no response. You just slipped it under the door. Unable to find him a gift, you had placed a slip of paper in the card telling him that you would buy him breakfast at a café of his choice.

A piercing, shrill bleeping shot through your ear drums. Your phone was blaring on the coffee table in front of you. Chris ran into the living room and started barking and growling at your phone. "Hey! Cut it out," You snapped, "You never bark at the phone, geez!" Picking up the phone, Seven's picture flashed on the screen. Pressing the pickup button, you answered the call. "Hey! What's up?" Despite how annoyed you were at his recent rejection, you managed to sound normal. No reply from the other end. Looking at the screen, you saw the call was declined. Deciding you had pressed the end call button accidentally, you called Seven again. No answer. 'That's strange...' you thought. Doubting texting would work but still willing to try, you texted him. 'Did you just call me? I must have accidentally hung up. Sorry.' Immediately, you received a call from Seven. "Seven! Sorry about just before..."

"[Y/N]! This is important!" His voice crackled through the phone, his fear obvious.

"What is it?"

"I didn't call you."

"But your name..."

"Did anybody talk to you?"

"No... I guess not."

"I-it's," He paused, "It probably was a malfunction... ha, I guess I was over reacting." He sighed.

"Are you sure?" You weren't convinced but you decided it was better to not ask questions.

There was a pause. "I should check your phone just in case." Another pause. "I think I might take you up on your offer for breakfast."
