You stood up and peered through the window. One nurse was taking blood samples and another was checking the machines, scribbling frantically on a notepad. The third nurse was restraining Saeran, who had become very agitated since you and Seven left the room. One of his hands were grasping at his sheets whilst he tried to reach his head, where the sutures from his surgery were, with his other hand. His arms and legs shook involuntarily and his body was drenched in sweat, indicating that he had a fever. The doctor held his eyelids open and flashed a light in his eyes, checking for brain activity.

You crouched down to where Seven sat in a crumpled heap underneath the window, sobbing loudly. You rubbed his back absently as you explained what was happening in hushed tones. Seven loved his brother so this affected him more than you. You had only met Saeran twice and he tried to kill you, but your stomach was in a tight knot and you felt tears prick the back of your eyes. You blinked them away and hugged Seven. You whispered softly in his ear, telling him that Saeran would keep fighting, that the doctors would try their best to keep him alive. Seven just kept crying. "I did this." He muttered. He put his head on his knees to muffle his sobbing. You kissed his cheek and stood up again.

After what seemed like an eternity of watching the nurses busying themselves, checking lines, changing drips and trying to make Saeran comfortable, a nurse came over and opened the door. Allowing her to close the door behind her first, you asked her what happened.

"There was an infection at an IV site." She flipped through some papers on her clipboard. Seven looked up at the nurse with puffy red eyes and took a couple deep breaths to calm himself. "Will he be okay?"

"We have stabilised his condition and given him IV antibiotics." The nurse replied blandly. Seven sighed with relief. "Thank you."

"It's our job." No sooner had she said this, the door at her side swung open and the doctor walked through the doorway. His face was stern and his lips set in a thin line. He saw you and adjusted his thin-framed glasses that perched on his pointed nose. "Miss [Y/N]. A moment?"

"Of course." You followed him down the corridor and around a corner. The doctor turned around and clasped his hands behind his back. "Miss [Y/N]," He seemed to tower over you as he peered down at you over the top of his glasses, "You are forbidden to visit Saeran until he is awake and has full consciousness." You were momentarily stunned. "But, doctor-"

"Your presence obviously agitates him." He stated, starting to walk past you.

"It was probably just a coincidence." You protested feebly as you turned around to keep him in view. He glanced over his shoulder towards you. "I don't believe in coincidences."
