The restaurant sat next to a river. You and Seven sat outside and you watched the stars shimmer on the water. The stars reflected in the perfectly still water, making it seem like they had fallen to Earth. "Thank you." Seven smiled politely to the waitress who took your cheque after he paid. He turned to you and grinned. "You look amazing." He told you for the hundredth time that night. He didn't look so bad himself. He wore a crisp, white dress shirt with a black jacket and pants.
"Thank you," You smiled softly, "You were right, it is a beautiful night. I'm glad you convinced me to come."
"Well," He stood up and took your hand, "It's not as beautiful as you." He kissed your fingers tenderly. You blushed slightly and stood. "I don't know what to say..." You started. Seven held a finger to your lips. "Then don't say anything, Princess. Just follow me."
Your hand fitted perfectly is his. Seven was holding a torch which illuminated your surroundings. You admired the trees around you. Willows dipped their leafy arms in the water while cypresses slipped past on your left. The ground was covered in soft grass. You felt like you were in a wonderland of green. Looking up, you saw that the bright moon and stars were hidden by branches and leaves. Seven turned off the torch and glanced towards you. "We're here." He told you softly.
"Where is here?" You asked, your voice just above a whisper. Seven took a couple more steps and stopped, looking out to your right. You looked where he was and you saw it. The lake sat, undisturbed by ferries and motorboats. You were standing in a tiny clearing of trees on the bank. The stars twinkled on the water and the moon illuminated the clearing, making the grass and trees glimmer. Breath taken, you gasped softly. "It's beautiful."
Seven tugged your hand and lead you to the edge of the river. There, you saw a small wooden boat with two seats. You looked up at Seven who smiled and nudged you towards the boat. You sat down in it and Seven sat opposite you. He took off his jacket and put it around your shoulders. He untied the boat from the bank. He grabbed the oars and started to row. You trailed your fingertips in the water, disturbing the millions of stars that reflected on the surface.
Soon, Seven had reached the middle of the river. He secured the oars and looked out over the water. "It isn't space but it's beautiful isn't it?" He smiled, "I love you to the moon and back. I can't imagine my life without you, [Y/N]. No. I don't want to imagine my life without you." He slipped off his seat and kneeled on the bottom of the boat. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. You put your hands over your mouth in a silent gasp. Seven opened the box. Inside lay a white gold ring, encrusted with tiny diamonds and rubies. He looked up at you and smiled nervously. "[Y/N] [L/N]. Will you marry me?"
Tears of happiness pooled in your eyes. You smiled brightly and laughed a little. "Yes!"
Seven took your hand in his slightly shaky one and slid the ring onto your finger. He looked up at you, his eyes playful and excited. Heat burned just beneath the golden surface of his eyes. He suddenly grabbed you and kissed you softly. With stars above and below you. Your heart is racing and you feeI weightless. Is this what space feels like?
