Seven was late. You tucked your hair behind your ear and smoothed out your dress. It was made of pale pink silk which glistened as you moved. It was a strapless dress which reached your knees. You wore a necklace with a delicate silver chain and a small, ruby encrusted heart. Your phone indicated that it was five past eight. Not wanting to attract any attention to yourself, you watched the bubbles in your lemon lime and bitters slide up the side of the glass. Occasionally, you tapped the side of the glass and the bubbles would come free, dashing to the surface, where they popped.
The table suddenly moved under your elbows. You looked up. A male about your age stood above you, leaning his hip against the table. He held a waiters notepad and wore a shirt with the restaurants logo embellished on it, but his behaviour suggested he was slacking off. His hair was bleached white with pink highlights. But what really caught your attention were his eyes. They were a mint colour and they searched your face, bemused. "And what's a pretty lady like you doing all alone on the night of lovers?" He smiled. His voice seemed familiar but you couldn't quite place it. "I'm just waiting." You replied simply.
"Your man is making you wait?" He rose an eyebrow questioningly, "That's incredibly rude"
"What of it?" You sipped your drink, agitated that he was accusing Seven, "I can wait a few minutes for him."
"Seemed a bit longer to me." He grinned like a snake would smile at a mouse it was about to eat.
You stood up, hating the fact that he looked down on you. You were still a head shorter than him but you felt less insignificant "Look, I don't care if you're male, heck, I don't really care if you are the king of the universe. You can't just come over here and start making derogatory comments about my boyfriend and purposely pissing me off." You hissed. He smiled as if this was great fun for him.
"I didn't catch your name." He said.
"I don't care."
"But I want to know your name."
"You should have thought about that before you started annoying me." You felt a hand on your shoulder. You whirled around. Wide, gold eyes stared at you, concerned.
"What's happening here [Y/N]?" Seven looked you over, concerned.
"This guy was just pissing me off." You turned around, jabbing a finger at the man with mint eyes.
"It's rude to point." The waiter pushed your hand down.
"Don't touch her." Seven growled from behind you.
"Fine," The waiter turned around and walked off, "I'll see you later [Y/N]."
