"We've got to get these kids out of here!" I cry over the fire alarm.
I look at Violet, panicked.
Okay, uh, what's keeping these kids asleep?
I rip the IV out of her arm, hoping it wasn't keeping her alive.
I also take the mask off her face, and after removing that, her eyes slowly flutter open.
"I know you're probably confused, but just know that my name is Autumn, these are my friends, and we're here to bust you out of here," I say, looking at the disheveled and confused Violet.
"Oh, and, the building's on fire," Leila says, moving on to the next bed.
Everyone but Ryith and Nora picks a bed, and wakes the person up.
"I know how to get them out of here," Nox says, guiding Violet over to the wall.
Turns out, there are windows, they're just tinted.
Nox tries to open it, but there's no latch.
Frustrated, he slams his gun through the window, bleeding up his arm.
"It's fine," He says, shooing away a concerned Leila.
"Jump out the window," Nox says to Violet.
"What?!"
"Just trust me, you won't get hurt. It's either that, or burn to death," He says.
With wide eyes, Violet climbs out the window.
As soon as she starts falling, Nox flips her gravity off, and she slowly begins floating upwards, screaming.
Nox turns her gravity back on, but just before she hits the ground, he turns it off, then back on.
She lands safely, waiting out of the sight line of the windows.
I send over Nora and Ryith to Nox, as well as three new kids.
I notice Juliette is nowhere to be found.
Either the kakos found her, or she escaped.
Either way, I ignore it for now, waking up a 15-year-old girl named Emmanuelle Poincette.
"Ooh, fancy. Sounds french," I mutter, taking the mask off.
I give her the spiel about who we are, why we're here, and send her off to Nox.
All the beds are now empty, and a small line is forming around the window.
"Here, I can help too!" Mercedes cries, running to another window.
She too, can't open it, but Oakley slams his pipe through the window.
Mercedes twirls her hand around, leaning out the window.
A big slide of ice forms, and she starts sending kids out that side.
"Hurry, it'll melt in the heat!" She cries, and I watch Emmanuelle slide down.
Eventually, only my friends are left.
Oakley, the youngest without a current job, heads down Mercedes' slide.
Leila crawls out Nox's window, and Gray heads to Mercedes.
I climb out Nox's window, and he sends me down.
Mercedes slips down her slide, melting it behind her.
Nox finally touches the ground, and Leila and I do a head count.
