Juliette falls to the ground, unconscious.
I drop Nox's gun, then I quickly run over to start untying.
"How did you get out?" Oakley asks as I'm untying him.
"I was just wriggling my wrists the entire time she was talking," I explain, moving on to untying Ryith. Oakley helps me, and soon, everyone's untied.
"Autumn...I-you...thank you," Leila says, struggling to find the words.
"How did you do it? Even though I know she used us, I still couldn't find anything in my heart that wanted to hurt her," Leila sighs, looking into my eyes.
"Like she said, she practically raised you. A bond between mother and child is a hard one to break, it makes sense that you haven't quite accepted the fact that she is now the enemy. I simply haven't known her that long, so I really had no problem eliminating our problem," I explain to her.
"We should move quickly, before she wakes up," Nox says. I can tell he's trying to be strong, but his tone doesn't match his words, and he stares at Juliette sadly.
"Is Juliette the bad guy now?" Nora asks me curiously.
"Afraid so," I reply. She doesn't seem at all bothered, she simply accepts it. Huh.
I pack up my bag, and try and gather up the kids. The older ones still can't seem to let Juliette go, and I have to physically pull Leila out of the room. Gently, of course.
We begin walking down the hall, with no destination in mind.
"What now?" Gray asks me.
"Uh, why me?" I ask, taken aback.
"You're the only one who really has a grip on what's right, the rest of us are clouded by emotions," He tells me.
Woah, someone's self-aware.
"Well, this fight isn't over, as long as OHAR exists, we'll continue to be hunted," I say, "I kinda feel like there has to be a fight."
And I'm not just saying that because I like fights.
"Alright, that's it! I'm not leaving this place until each and every kako pays for what they've done!" Leila fumes, clenching her fists. I can tell that she's finally snapped.
"I like this Leila, where's she been?" I grin, slinging my arm around her.
"I don't know that a fight's such a good idea, it might be a good time to just go home," Gray says gently.
"No, we can't quit now! If we don't take down the kakos once and for all, when else will we get the chance?" I shoot back.
"This entire time, I've just been itching for a fight," Mercedes grins, rubbing her hands together, "I'm in."
"I don't think it's a good idea," Oakley says quietly, going over to Gray's side.
"Yeah, I think now's a good time to just head home," Nox says.
We keep spitting arguments, back and forth, all the while slowly rounding the corner.
Oakley gasps in shock at something behind us.
"What?" I ask, whirling around.
I gasp too when I realize what, or rather, who, it is.
"KC and Thalia!" Leila lets out a sob, covering her mouth with her hands.
I quickly turn Nora away, back around the corner.
I take one last look at them, and my heart tightens with sympathy when I noticed that they died holding hands.
