"Forget the ice, let's just grab the first aid kit," Nox says, frustrated.
I grab it off the wall, then take one last long look at the door, before walking back with Nox.
"The door was locked," I say, swinging the first aid kit at Leila.
She raises an eyebrow, but gets to work on Oakley's leg.
Upon further inspection, there's also a large gash on the back of his leg, probably from a rock. Leila cleans it and wraps it in gauze.
"Use these until Juliette gets back," She says, handing him the retractable crutches.
"Speaking of, the town's only 20 minutes away, shouldn't she almost be back by now?" Gray says, checking his phone for the time.
"Wait, I think I hear tires on gravel!" Mercedes cries, and we run out to the front.
Juliette's car pulls up, but as the car door opens, the whole car just disappears into thin air.
"What?" I immediately mumble. She literally just vanished!
"Woah, Autumn, your eyes again!" Leila cries, looking at my eyes.
"Hold on, does the car disappearing have something to do with your anomaly?" Nox asks.
"Can you make things disappear?" Oakley asks, hobbling over on his crutches.
"Wait, that can't be it. The first time her eyes did that, a bunch of people who weren't there appeared upstairs," Gray ponders, "maybe you can make things that aren't there look like they are?"
"Like a...hologram?" I say, confused.
"Well, kinda, I guess. We'd have to see if you can touch or talk to your images," Gray says.
"Does that mean Juliette isn't coming?" Nora asks sadly.
"Of course not, little flower! She's coming, just not quite yet," I say, rubbing Nora's back to comfort her.
"Do you think you can do that again? Make those images?" Leila asks.
"I can try," I say, with about zero confidence.
I furrow my brow, concentrating.
I don't exactly know what I'm supposed to do, so I just try and picture the images.
I can't believe it! Slowly, very faint, faded people begin to appear around us.
Surprisingly, the people around us were...us! There were doubles, and triples of all of us.
They began to get less and less faint, and soon all the clones were opaque.
Everyone starts clapping, and I grin. I can't believe I did it!
"That's an awesome anomaly!" Oakley cries, and everyone agrees.
"Thanks, but shouldn't Juliette seriously be here by now?" I say, starting to worry.
What if she's hurt?
"Right, I'm going to call her again," Nox says, stepping away with his phone.
"If she doesn't get here in the next 20 minutes, shouldn't we go to the hospital?" I say, looking at Oakley.
"No! We avoid going to hospitals for as long as possible," Leila says strictly.
Nox steps back into the group.
"I called her 3 times, no answer," He says, sighing.
"Why can't you go to the hospital?" I ask.
