53- The Perilous Penguin

Batman arrived at Wayne Enterprises just one minute after midnight. He went up the stairs and took out a merc who was guarding there. He had Lucius talking to him in his earpiece. "Signal coming in, Lucius?" Batman asked.

"Looks like it. I'll give you the support I can." Lucius responded.

"Good. Thanks Lucius." Batman made his way up the stairs until he got to the top floor where Penguin's office was. "Time to fire the new CEO."

"Dammit! Dammit! Dammit! Does anyone have him? Useless! You are all bloody useless!" Penguin yelled in anger as he watched the security footage of Batman sneaking to the top floor. Batman then kicked open the door to Penguin's office. 

"Hey! It's the Bat!" One of the two mercs yelled as he saw Batman. The two pointed their guns at him."You're a dead man!"

"Well if it ain't the biggest, bleeding, pleasure to see your sour mug again." Penguin greeted Batman. 

"Gloat while you can, Cobblepot. I'm taking you down." Batman announced.

"Yeah, I don't think so. In fact I think it's gonna be you who's gonna get beat by me." Batman could see where he had punched him multiple times the other day. "I am pretty good in a fight, you know. Been in a few scuffles here and there."

"That's not happening. You're outmatched. Give up."

"Oh, is that what you think? What, because of all those fancy gadgets? You know, I like your style, Batman. I really do. But you're really starting to become a pain in the ass. The Children of Arkham are gonna walk all over this city and there isn't anyone who can stop us! Not even you! But, this company, under my expert stewardship, with the technology being developed...we could control nations."

"Spare me the chatter, Cobblepot."

"This has been in the making for a long time. You know, Wayne was thinking too small. He was only tinkering around. So focused on consumer technology. But Lady Arkham, she has vision!" At this moment, Batman tried planning an attack on Cobblepot with a feature planted in his cowl but a sign came up saying "firewall breach". "What's the matter? Trying to plan things out ahead of time, are you? Neat trick. Pretty flashy for someone who only wears black."

"How?"

Penguin pointed to an accessory on his face that looked like a pair of eyeglasses. There was some kind of object added on. "Not just fashion. It's very functional. Face it, Batman. You're outmatched! Without your tech, you're just a man in a pointy-eared costume. You can't stop us!"

"Watch me." Batman used his grapple gun to pull a chair towards one of the mercs. The chair slammed into the merc's legs and made him fall on the ground.  Batman lunged at the other merc and slammed his face into the wall, stopping him. 

"Come on, Batman! Show me what you got!" Penguin taunted Batman. Batman charged at Penguin. "My turn!" Penguin pressed a button on his eyeglass which made a drone enable and smash into Batman. The drone sent Batman flying into the secret elevator which was opened. Penguin went into the elevator with Batman and the two dueled. Penguin got on top of Batman. "You're pathetic!" Batman punched Penguin in the face twice. The elevator stopped and Penguin ran out, to the computer where the Black Box was connected to. The percentage was eighty percent. "Yeah, that beauty is almost done hacking your precious network. Few more minutes...all your secrets are mine!"

"I will stop you before that happens!" Penguin ran for a table with gadgets on it. He grabbed iron fists and put them on. 

"So this is how it feels when you put on that suit? I like it!" Penguin rushed at Batman with the gloves. Batman tried punching Penguin but he missed and the iron fists collided with Batman's stomach. Batman fell down the stairs, hurt. Batman tried getting up but Penguin knocked him back down with a punch to the face. Blood poured from Batman's nose. "This is the start of a new legacy! I'm afraid you don't have any place in it." Penguin swung his fist at Batman but Batman was able to block it. He kicked Penguin in the ankle and hit him the face with a wrench that was lying on a nearby table. The impact knocked off Penguin's eyeglass. Batman ripped off one of the pair of iron fists that Penguin was wearing and threw it to the side. He then twisted Penguin's arm and broke it. Penguin screamed in pain as Batman threw him to the ground. Penguin saw a sledgehammer and went to pick it up but Batman picked it up. He slammed the hammer down on Penguin's hand which broke the glove. Penguin took it as the fist malfunctioned. "You absolute bastard!" Batman did his finishing blow by kicking Penguin in the face. "You psycho! This isn't the end, Batman! You can't stop us!" Penguin lay there, injured and maimed.

"It's done, Cobblepot! Your revolution is over. It started with you and it ends with Lady Arkham."

"Good luck. You'll never find her in time!" Batman picked Penguin up by his neck. 

"Where is she? What is she planning?!"

"The message is the same as it's ever been! We will open your eyes! This city's hypocrisy will be exposed!" Batman punched Penguin in the belly. 

"Tell me where to find her!"

"Piss off! I'm not telling you anything!  When she's ready, she'll find you!" Batman simply knocked him out. Batman walked over to the Black Box and destroyed it with the sledgehammer. He had to find Lady Arkham now.
