Five days later...
Lieutenant Gordon opened the door that led to the roof of the GCPD. He was being hunted down by his own police officers. He closed and locked the door behind him. "You're done, Gordon!" One of the officers yelled as they tried opening the door. "Give up your badge and we'll let you live!" Gordon walked over to the skylight and turned it on. It showcased the bat signal in the sky. Gordon was calling for Batman's help. As the officers banged on the door, trying their best to break it down, Gordon pulled out a pistol, ready to fire. Finally, the three officers barged through the door. "Time's up!" The one in the front shouted. They were all armed. "You should have known better, Gordon! Now we nail your tongue to the precinct, by order of city hall!"
"Just try me, motherfuckers." Gordon pointed his pistol at the three of them. The three raised their guns. Suddenly, a bat-a-rang hit an officer in the arm. The officer yelped in pain and dropped his gun. The other two were astonished. Batman had found them. Another bat-a-rang disarmed another officer. Batman appeared and tackled one of them, knocking him out with one punch to the face. The other two stared at Batman. Batman picked up the leader of the three and threw him at the other cop, stopping both of them. "Just in time, Batman. Mayor Dent's lost his goddamn mind. His enforcers have overrun the city. Apparently, our new mayor doesn't care much for dissent. He's ordered a purge of every honest cop we have left."
"Dent is a maniac and he needs to be stopped before he tears this city apart." Batman spoke.
"Don't let me get in your way." Gordon picked up a shotgun from one of his officers. Gunfire could be heard coming from floors below. "Come on. The commissioner is still down there!" Gordon led Batman down to the floor where all the officers were in the middle of a gun war.
"Sure you're up for this?" Batman asked Gordon.
"I have to be!" Gordon replied. The two of them turned a corner and they both saw only three police officers on Gordon's side and six on the other side, shooting at them.
"Follow my lead." Batman said, and took out an electricity grenade. The grenade stuck to one of the officer's heads that was on Harvey's side. The officer was immediately electrocuted and put down. Batman ran ahead of the three officers that shot at the other five. He threw a bat-a-rang at an officer which collided with that officer's arm, disarming him. Batman grabbed another officer and slammed their face against the wall. There was three left. Batman simply punched one in the face, knocking him out instantly. The other two stood there in awe. One of them jumped on Batman's back. Batman flipped the officer over his back and stopped him. The final officer stood there with a pistol and pointed it at Batman.
"I'll do it! I swear! I'll--"
Before the officer pulled the trigger, Gordon did and shot the officer in the face with his shotgun, blowing the officer's head off. A wounded officer who was on Gordon's team sat on the floor, dying.
"Where's the Commissioner?" Gordon demanded.
"In the lobby." The officer managed before dying.
"Goddamn it. Let's keep going, Batman. I want them all dead." Gordon angrily said as he stared at the dead officer in grief. He walked past Batman and headed to the lobby. Batman stood there, still staring at the poor, dead officer. "Batman. Come on. I'm going with or without you. We can't lose the commissioner. I wouldn't know what to do." Gordon stopped for a moment. He then continued moving and hit the button on the elevator. Once the doors opened, Gordon stepped inside. Batman went with him.
