Arkham Asylum, 12:15 PM
Mercenaries roamed the halls with guns. Insanity was everywhere. "Everything good?" One of the mercs asked another.
"The orderlies are rounded up." Another merc said and smiled behind his mask and kept patrolling.
"That's the last of it, then." The previous merc replied.
Batman arrived at the asylum and hid behind a wall. "The Children of Arkham have taken over."
"Lieutenant Gordon--ahem, Commissioner Gordon says that the GCPD are on their way. He's leading the team himself." Lucius responded into Batman's earpiece. "If you can find Alfred, maybe you can get out of there before all hell breaks loose. Literally hell. Heh heh."
"Almost ready. Let her know." A merc's two-way radio spoke.
"Copy. On our way." The merc with the radio said. The same merc ordered the other two mercs to release the crazies that were locked up. "Go ahead. I got this." The merc walked down an empty hallway and Batman followed him. Just when the merc sensed him, Batman went in for the attack. He knocked him out with one punch. Batman dragged the unconscious body to where he was headed. Lady Arkham's location. Batman threw the body into the room to notify Vicki of his presence.
"Batman." Lady Arkham growled as he walked in.
"This ends now, Vicki." Batman said. "Tell me where Alfred Pennyworth is."
"The butler? Bruce Wayne has a bat on his payroll? Ha!"
"Answer the question!"
"Where he is doesn't matter. He'll be dead soon. Another corpse in Bruce Wayne's family."
"I'm gonna make sure no one dies tonight."
"You really think you're in control here? Heh ha. Your confidence is impressive. But that won't save the butler. Or the rest of Gotham. A lesson needs to be taught. They won't look the other way--not again!"
"When did Gotham look away from you, Vicki?"
"Don't try to psychoanalyze me, Batman. You have no idea what I've done to come this far! Too much to turn back now!"
"I know you've suffered. You were tortured. Held captive by the people who were supposed to love you. I don't know how you survived."
"You want to know how I survived? I survived because every night I dreamed of the revenge I'd take on them and this forsaken city! Your time's run out!" Vicki used her staff as Batman used his bat-a-rang to stop her. The bat-a-rang backfired and stabbed Batman in the shoulder as Vicki used her staff. Batman yelled in pain and was distracted as Vicki ran out the way Batman had come in. Batman quickly pulled out the bloody bat-a-rang and crushed in it his hands in a fit of rage. He chased after her, down the halls of the asylum.
