Weekdays and weekends are two completely different things.
Weekdays are for work or school. They are for going to the grocery store or seeing plays after a long day. On these days you fill every minute with something. Weekdays are after-school activities and finishing projects and meeting deadlines. Weekdays are busy. They don't give you moments of quiet, but that's ok sometimes.
Weekends are slow. They mean getting up in your own time and going somewhere for breakfast. Weekends are peace and quiet. On these days you hang out with friends and family, see a movie. Sure, you may still do chores and get things done, but only slowly and methodically. Weekends are about self: self-care and self-motivation. These days are just as important as the weekdays.
When life is full, such an arrangement is necessary.
