Chapter 15

I wake up to a buzzing vibration in my hand. I must have fallen asleep for a few minutes. I look at my screen and it reads "Adym." I open my phone and see him say, "I'm sorry if I was really abrupt tonight, I just wanted to say how I felt." I feel a buzz come from my phone again and it reads "Jack." "I really did have an amazing time tonight, I'd love to see you again." Oh god, what have I got myself into! I respond to Adym first and say, "I understand, I did that the other night and it feels good to get it all off of your chest." I respond to Jack, "I'm sorry about tonight, at least you getting punched. I enjoyed my time with you and I would love to go out again." Adym responds, "Are you still going to be going out with Jack?" I respond back, "Yes, I would like to go on at least one more date to see if we are compatible. I'm being honest with you, I don't want to leave you in the dark." He respond back, "No, I understand. I really do get where you are coming from, although I am jealous and hope you aren't going to work out, I hope you have a good time on this last date." Buzz, it's Jack, "Great, how's tomorrow at about 12. I'd love to go to Malibu and spend some time with you at the beach. We could get something to eat and have a good time?:)" I respond back, "I'd absolutely love that, thank you Jack. I appreciate you." Buzz, it's Adym, "I'm going to go to bed, I love you Kat." My body secretly melts behind the phone and I say, "I love you too, Adym." BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ, Jack triple texting me, "Hey"
"What're you up to?"
"HEY LOSER RESPOND FASTER."
We end up texting for about another hour until I tell him that I'm going to go to bed. We say our good nights and that's the end of it. Rebecca comes into my room and says, "So, you and Adym? You and Jack?" I say back, "I know, I know. It is kind of confusing at the moment, but I'm going out with Jack one more time to see if we're compatible." Rebecca says, "Oh yea for sure, that sounds like a good idea." She says to me, "Do you remember the time in 7th grade where Mrs. Kahbushani yelled at us because we brought edibles to school." I laugh and say, "Oh yea! I didn't even know they were edibles! I found brownies in my moms room and thought they'd be good to eat! I know she was just mad we were eating in class, but imagine how much trouble we would be in if we had gotten caught!" We start reminiscing on all the old memories we shared and we stayed up for hours talking about it. She shows me an old picture of us and I can't help but gasp. My eyebrows looked like they had gotten a divorce because they were so far apart. My teeth were so yellow and my hair was so long and blonde. I tell her to send me the pic and I tweet it out, "#throwback." Immediately I notice Adym and Jack favorite it. I then see them both tweet similar things, "Hate when people say they're sleeping, then go on twitter 🙄." "Damn, thought you were sleeping. Not tryna subtweet but don't lie lol." I text both of those ducking babies back and say, "I JUST WOKE UP, CHILL." Yes, I lied. I didn't want them to freak out and make this an issue when it shouldn't be. They both leave me on read, what assholes! Whatever, I'm going to go to bed this time.

I wake up at around 8 AM and see that Adym and Jack responded about ten minutes after I fell asleep. Damn, now I kind of feel bad for calling them assholes, but I kind of don't. Jack, "I'm sorryyy." Adym, "🙄" I text Jack and say, "Are we still on for today?" He immediately says back, "Yes, see you at 12." I respond to Adym, "Good morning, ugly." I finally roll out of bed and shower. After I'm done showering, I sit at my vanity and do my makeup. I listen to Jacks music and I'm really impressed by his work. He sings with his best friend Jack and they are known as Jack&Jack. I do my makeup while listening to his music and I check the time. 10:45. I finish my makeup and look in my closet for what to wear. I have a black and white mesh bikini to wear and some shorts sandals for the beach. I have white jeans, black lace up heels and a mesh sweater with a Calvin Klein sports bra. I check the time and it reads 11:15. I text Jack, "Can you pick me up, I'm kind of bored sitting at home." He responds, "on my way." A few minutes pass and I hear a knock on the door, I swing the door open and say, "Hey Jack." It didn't register in my head that standing right in front of me is Adym. "You're seeing him today?" He says confused. "Yes, I am." He gets upset and says, "You know what, forget it. I want to be nice and all, but I can't. I love you and I don't want to see you go out with some other guy. I understand you going on another date and all but I want you to pick me. I want you to need me, and you don't seem like you do or you want to." I get angry and say back, "You slept with Rebecca, made out with some other girl, and you hurt me! I'm not sorry that I'm going out on a date and that I'm going to enjoy myself! Please, just give me some air!" Adyms face drops. I hear him drop something behind him, "You want air, you got it." He leaves and I look down to see roses. He was holding roses behind him. I sigh and say, "Damn it!" I close the door and I hear a knock immediately, I yell, "WHAT DO YOU-- oh Jack! I'm sorry!" He seems confused and says, "Are you okay?" I say back, "You know what, I'm better than ever. I grab his face and kiss him hard. He grabs my waist and pulls me close. Our lips release and he says, "I can tell, let's get out of here." I know I kissed him because I wanted to, but I also did it because I wanted to just forget about Adym for a second. I can't wait for what today holds.
