Thunder cackled across the oppressive clouds as rain pounded heavily against the upper dock of the ship, and it rocked side to side , turning Lin Na light headed.
She gripped on one of the railings as she descended down the stairs, stopping as her nausea rises. She pressed her fingers against her temple.
In her hand was a pair of fresh clean towels, and she was delivering them to Charles and his new friend - the last time she saw them up there, they went straight downstairs, and no one had offered them towels.
The last thing she wanted was them to get sick - especially Charles, he gets whiny when he gets sick. The last time he had the flu, he wouldn't stop complaining about it while he was forced to stay in bed. Lin Na feels as if he was the equivalent of a child sometimes.
Lin Na stopped in front of the room, and she hesitated. How if they're having some sort of secret meeting ? She rested her ears against the metal door, she could only hear murmurs and mutters.
Suddenly, the door opened inwards, and Lin Na stumbled in.She bumped into someone, and her hands automatically brace itself upon their shoulders. She squeaked, and she looked up to see Charles' friend.
Deep, bluish eyes - the color of steel captured her own whiskey ones. It grounded her in her place, and her lips parted, but her gasp was inaudible.
Alarms blared around her mind, for she instantly saw something dangerous flash against his eyes. But she quickly dismissed it," Get a grip."
" Oh! Lin Na , come in," Charles peeked from behind him. Lin Na's hands moved away from his shoulders, and a coat of pink dusted her cheeks.
She stepped back, and Erik said nothing. They both entered the room, and Lin Na sighed when she saw Charles - dripping wet.
" Charles , you know better than this," Lin Na passed him a towel," I'm not your mother, and don't make me act like it. Make sure you don't catch a flu."
Charles chuckled," But I like being mothered by you !"
She playfully tugged the edge of his ear, and she smiled. Then Erik moved beside her, hands behind his back.
" Ah, Erik this is Lin Na, Lin Na this is Erik, " he spoke as he dried his hair.
Lin Na passed the other towel to him,"Here, you must be cold too."
Erik took it, nodding," Thank you."
" What you did back there," Lin Na looked down," Was incredible."
She tried to ignore the warning in her mind - he seemed like a nice person, she thought.
Erik raised his brow at her, and Charles chuckled," She's talking about your mutant ability. "
The corners of his lips tugged upwards, but it vanished instantly," Is that so?"
He made a nearby coin float, and Lin Na smiled.
She tugged a strand of her hair behind her ear,nodding.
Before Charles could explain what Lin Na's abilities were - Raven appeared from the door and grabbed Lin Na's shoulders from behind. Shocking her - purposely, and instantly Lin Na squealed and turned invisible.
Erik stepped back, slightly shocked from Raven's sudden appearance - and Lin Na's transformation.
Lin Na turned back, and she covered her face with her hands," Raven ! "
Raven giggled, and when Lin Na looked up at Erik - he gave her a smile, and it was longer than the last one.
