Erik gritted his teeth,and he inhaled deeply - watching the scene in front of him.
Moria and Charles were already scrambling out of the car, running towards the herd of police cars. They pushed past the yellow tapes, gaping at the rubbles of Division X.
Erik's eyes searched the crowd, and when he saw her leaning against Raven, he jogged towards them. The new recruits were slumping on one of the benches, some are being treated by nurses - others were slouching in defeat.
" Lin Na !" Charles breathed out on relief," Raven !"
The two girls snapped their heads towards him, eyes lighting up," Charles !"
" What happened ?"
The moment Raven saw Erik behind them she turned tensed, shifting her eyes away from him," It was Shaw."
" He took Angel, actually she voluntarily joined him," Carter sighed, rubbing his aching shoulders.
" He almost killed Darwin,and he tried to," Hank trailed off, eyes sliding towards Lin Na, who was trying to hide the bruises circling her neck with her cardigan.
Erik grabbed her wrist, stopping her movements. Their eyes locked, and the look in her eyes screamed ' Don't.' But he ignored her, and gently peeled her fingers off the collar - revealing an ugly red and blue color around her throat.
Charles stiffened, and Moria covered her mouth," He... chocked you?"
" He could've done more than that, he could've killed you," Erik growled, angry at how reckless Lin Na was.
" He could've killed Darwin, I can't let that happen," Lin Na defended, her voice was hoarse and laced with fatigue.
" She hit him in the head," Raven added," With a chair."
" A chair ?" Charles exclaimed disbelievingly, " Were you possessed ? What were you thinking ?"
" For once, she wasn't," Raven concealed a smirk, and disguised it poorly as a scowl.
" I can't let him die, and I'm here for a reason. Aren't I ?" She whispered, forcing a smile of her own," You told me to fight."
" There's a thin line between bravery and recklessness," Erik scolded.
Lin Na stepped back, feeling offended. She let his words slide, turning her attention to Raven," What are we going to do now?"
" We fight back.l
" But we're not ready," Alex scoffed, at Charles's words,"Look at us."
" Then we train, we avenge the innocent people he killed, and stop him before he kills more."
