Leah's POV

The man was running after me but I didn't want him to get me. My little legs felt like jelly as I ran as fast as I could down the road. I started to struggle to carry on walking and ended up falling over on the sidewalk. I knew I had to get up. I didn't want him to catch me.

I got back onto my feet and kept running along. I looked back and saw him. I was tired now and he is running faster than I am.

I quickly crawl under a fence and into a parking lot. The door of a car is open. Maybe I can be safe in there?

Without thinking much about it I jump into the car and hide under some bags which were in the back seats.

Was he gone? Was I safe now?

I heard the rumble of the engine and the car started.

I stayed as quiet as I could so he wouldn't find me.

Taylor's POV

Adam and I had decided to drive down to Nashville rather than travel by jet. I had a good feeling that the road trip would be a great experience for the two of us. The journey was also 13 hours long according to Google maps which happens to be my lucky number, so I had a really good feeling about the trip.

Adam was on my left driving. I could hear a strange noise coming from the back so I poked my head around. It was probably just the cats in their travel cages.

It had taken a while to lure them into their travel cages, especially Meredith. She was a grumpy cat and always wanted her way. Her way also happened to usually be the opposite from what I wanted and made everything more difficult.

The journey was great. Adam and I talked a lot and we took lots of pictures. We sang to whatever song was on the radio, whether we knew the lyrics or not, and it was particularly fun watching Adam sing along to Ariana Grande's Break free.

Seconds turned to minutes and minutes turned to hours. The journey was a whole lot quicker than I had expected.

We decided to go to my apartment in Nashville before visiting my parents. We pulled into the drive and I immediately jumped out to stretch.

Adam opened up the boot of the car to take the cats out. He took the cats inside as they had been making noises and fussing in their cages all day whilst I opened up the door to the backseats where most of our bags were. I began to unload a few things when I saw something. Someone.

I jumped back when I saw the little figure and froze.

I took a step closer and peered under a duffel bag filled with clothes to see a tiny little child, curled up in a ball.

"DON'T TAKE ME! DON'T LET HIM FIND ME!" She screamed, followed by loud sobs. Adam had gone to take a shower now so he couldn't see what was going on.

"Honey, it's alright. Are you ok?" I whispered. I was still quite scared and confused as to what the little girl was doing in Adam's car.

She continued to cry and would scream if I tried to touch her. My heart broke to see the lost little girl.

"Don't worry, baby. We'll find your parents. It's ok." I said and stroked her hair. This time, she let me touch her. She was still shaking and tears were still falling down her cheeks.

I texted Adam and told him I was quickly going to catch up with my neighbour here in Nashville, Erica. I figured it was best if I was alone with the little girl. Having another person might scare her even more.

I climbed into the car and sat beside her. I wrapped an arm around her. At first she panicked but then calmed down when she realised I wasn't going to hurt her.

I sat there with her for about half an hour until her cries turned into whimpers. I pulled her into my arms and rocked her as she lay there and calmed down.

"Baby, I'm not going to hurt you. I just need to know your name. That way I can help you find your parents." I spoke softly into her ear. She panicked at my words and began to wriggle out of my grip.

"NO NO NO DON'T LET HIM FIND ME!" She screamed and banged against the doors, trying to get out the vehicle.
