Karlie's POV

It was getting late and I was at my hotel in Nashville. I had spent Christmas with my family is Saint Louis but I had flown down to Nashville this morning for a modelling job and a meeting regarding Kode with Klossy. It was annoying that I had so much work the same week as Christmas but I love my job so much I don't even mind that much. Plus I had quite a few friends in Nashville, including Taylor.

I was editing a new YouTube video when I heard a knock at the door. I got up and walked to answer it.

"Leah? Marcel?" I ask Taylor's daughter and bodyguard.

Marcel explains to me what happened and then asks if I could look after Leah. Of course I reply yes and I tell him he can go home and that we'd be ok.

"Is your mommy okay?"

"Daddy said mommy was sleeping but then mommy and daddy were shouting. I don't like loud noises..." Leah says sleepily, resting her head on my shoulder as I carry her in my arms.

Taylor and Adam were arguing? Something was up.

"How about we get you into bed and then we go back and check on your mommy and daddy in the morning?"

"Kay..." Leah mumbles, her eyes drooping.

There's only one bed in my hotel room so I lay her down next to me. I get in beside her and turn off the lights.

"Do mommy and daddy still want me?" She asks. My heart breaks. A 3 year old shouldn't have to question their parents' love but, after all she's been through, she doesn't know when she'll get kicked out of someone's life and passed onto the next.

"Of course they still love you."

Adam's POV

I wake up and hear Taylor crying next to me. Last night was chaotic. She had taken a pregnancy test.

Positive.

I was ecstatic. Taylor on the other hand, not at all. We shouted at eachother, arguing for hours on end about everything. About our relationship, about Leah, about the new baby. Everything.

I didn't mean half the things I said and neither did she. In the end we made up and ended up tangled up together for the rest of the night.

I look down at our still naked bodies and realise that I'd rather not have to explain this to Leah so I put some boxers and a T-shirt on and hand Taylor some shorts and a T-shirt. I sit down next to her and pull her close.

"I don't want this baby, Adam." She says, in between sobs. "I'm so stupid. I didn't even think about the baby I already have!"

"Taylor, by the time you get to see the little one you'll love them so much you would never question it."

"You can't say that Adam! You don't know that!"

"Taylor, please calm down. We've got plenty of time to sort everything out. You're only 3 months along."

"I don't want to spend that time planning for a baby! I want to spend time with Leah!" She cries. I manage to calm her down, and we sit there for a while.

"Leah hasn't come in yet..." Taylor mumbles.

"Should I bring her in?"

"Yeah."

I get up and walk to Leah's room. She's not in there.

Taylor and I both search the house, panicking as to how we could have lost our daughter in the middle of the night.

After a lot of screaming and panicking I rush outside where I'm immediately greeted my security.

"Have you seen Leah!?" I ask frantically.

"Yes. Marcel took her to Ms Kloss' hotel."

"Thank god! Thank you so much!" I exclaim. "TAYLOR!"

She comes running out and I tell her that Leah is with Karlie. How could we be such idiots and lose are kid?

Karlie's POV

I set Leah down at the table in the small kitchen the hotel room had. I couldn't find much other than oatmeal.

"Oatmeal for the princess?" I ask her.

"Yes please!" She replies happily. I make her a small bowl full and place it on the table in front of her. She begins to eat it and I turn on my phone to check if Taylor has called or messaged yet. As I do so, I hear a knock at the door.

"Karlie! Is Leah here!?" Taylor asks, clearly panicked.

"Yes, she's just eating some oatmeal." I say as I let both Taylor and Adam inside.

After they've exchanged hugs with their daughter, I pull Adam aside as Taylor is still clearly upset and has her arms wrapped around Leah, rocking her slowly back and fourth.

"Seriously though, what the fuck!? I don't mind babysitting, but losing your child in the middle of the night? You don't know what could have happened! What if Marcel didn't see her running out!" I whisper shout, not wanting the little girl in the room to hear.

Adam sighs and runs his hand through his hair. "I don't even know, Karlie. We should've put a lock on the door so she couldn't get out and we should've also checked up on her..." he says. "Me and Tay were arguing so, although we should have, we weren't really thinking about Leah at the time. We just imagined she'd be in bed where I had tucked her in."

"You were arguing?" I ask, confused as I knew that they didn't argue often and rarely over something big.

"It's nothing important. Don't worry."

"Adam, if it was big enough for you guys to not notice your daughter had gone missing, I'm pretty sure it's important."

Adam sighs again and shakes his head slightly, as if having an internal conversation as to whether or not he should tell me what they were arguing over.

He finally begins to speak. "Look, I want to tell you. I really do. I just, I can't...not yet. "

I nod and turn my attention back to the mother and daughter which were still sitting at the table. Taylor was still cradling Leah. Silent tears fell down her cheeks and I knew she was thinking about what could have happened. She was so close to losing the person who mattered most to her in this world.
