Taylor's POV

It had been 3 days with Leah in my house and 5 days since I had met her, due to her stay in the hospital. She had recovered from the accident. Luckily It wasn't too bad and she wasn't in pain, although she required a bit of medication.

She wasn't speaking much. She was quite shaken up. She was only two years old so I didn't expect her to be happy and bubbly after all of this.

I ended up not meeting my parents whilst we were in Nashville. They knew about Leah but they understood that after all of that it was better to not surround her with new people.

We had just landed in New York and were on our way to my apartment. Adam and I had been looking into moving in together but we hadn't seen anything we liked yet.

I was worried about the paparazzi. Leah hadn't seen them before and I knew that she would freak out. I would too if I weren't already used to it. Adam squeezed my hand, sensing my worry. He smiled and I smiled back.

I briefly explained to Leah that there would be people with cameras and that she should just not look at them and hold onto me. She didn't answer but ,then again, she hadn't been talking much since she got back from the hospital.

I opened the door and got out, holding Leah close. She had her face buried in the crook of my neck. Immediately cameras started flashing and people were screaming questions. My security tried to get them to move back but they were struggling.

"Who's the kid Taylor?"

"Is that your daughter Taylor?"

"Are you and Calvin still dating?"

"Who's the father of the kid Taylor?"

"Are you adopting the child?"

They screamed question after question and Leah was shaking, tears streaming down her face. I was trying to get past the camera men so I could get inside but I couldn't get passed. Adam was there too and was trying to help move them out the way since I had Leah.

"MAKE THEM STOP MOMMY!" Leah screamed. She was shaking really badly. My heart filled at those words and I started crying.

She called me mommy.

The paparazzi were going crazy over the fact she called me that and this was for sure going to make headlines but I didn't care. She called me mommy. I couldn't help but cry.

I pushed past the paparazzi only to be knocked to the floor, sending Leah toppling over. They started pointing cameras to her face and I couldn't reach her. I saw someone pick her up and panic washes over me. Thankfully it was Adam. He ran in with the crying girl on his shoulder and a few minutes later I managed to get inside too. We finally got into my apartment.

I comforted a very panicked little girl which quickly fell asleep, exhausted from all the travelling and commotion. I put her down on the couch and walked into the kitchen where Adam was.

"We have to adopt her." I blurted out. I immediately regretted saying it so quickly and I braced myself for Adam's reaction.

"I don't know, babe. I love her too but she's been through a tough life. She needs a family which are going to be there for her. Not a couple which are going to be touring and followed by the paps everywhere." He explained. I nodded but he noticed the tears in my eyes. "Are you sure that you're ready to let a kid into your life? Into our lives?" He asked. I nodded.

"I'm sure, Adam. I'm really sure." I said in reply. He leaned in to kiss me but we were interrupted by loud cries from the other room.

"It's ok, baby." I said as I sat down and lifted the two year old into my arms. "I'm here, it's Ok." I said.

"Mommy." She whispered as she lay in my arms.

"Do you want me to be your mommy?" I asked. She nodded and yawned. "And would Adam be your daddy?" I asked. She nodded again and I carried her to the spare room.

"Goodnight baby." I whispered and turned off the lights.

"Goodnight." She said. I closed the door and heard her mumble a faint "mommy".

I ran to Adam and cried in his arms. They were happy tears.
