Leah's POV

I screamed as loud as I could, hoping someone would hear me and come and save me. I looked back at the blonde woman, she seemed scared and sad. I didn't want her to take me back to him.

"Baby, please calm down," she said, "just please tell me your name. Maybe then I can help you."

"L L Le a ah" I replied, trying to control the tears falling down my cheeks.

"Leah?" She asked. I nodded back and fell back into her arms. She rocked me gently and it made me feel less scared. She was nice, maybe she wouldn't let him find me?

Taylor's POV

It broke my heart to see the little girl, Leah, fall apart in my arms. She was so little, no older than 3, and she was completely broken. I tried to not cry at the sight. I had to help her find her family.

"Baby, please talk to me." I whispered. She wouldn't answer and eventually, after an hour or so, fell asleep. Her head buried in my chest.

I opened the door and stepped out, holding her tightly. I decided to bring her inside. Maybe then she would open up a bit.

I opened the front door and heard Adam on the phone in the other room. I didn't want to scare the lost girl, so I thought it would be best if I put her down on the couch. I then walked into the kitchen where Adam had just finished his call.

"Hey babe." He said and pecked me on the lips.

"Hey Adam. Umm look there was this girl..." I started. He nodded to show he was listening. "She was in our car, under our stuff. I don't know how long she had been there for, but I found her there when I was unloading our bags."

"Wait, who's this girl?" He asked.

"I don't know. She's lost. No older than 3." I replied, tears welling up in my eyes. "You should've seen her Adam. The way she was... was screaming and she... she completely fell apart... right there in my arms." At this point I was crying and he gave me a tight hug to comfort me.

"It's ok Taylor. Where is she now?" I gestured to the living room in response. "Your brought her in the house? You don't know who she is!" Adam said, his face struck with fear and worry.

"She's lost Adam. I'll call my mum and cancel dinner tonight, I'll say we're too tired after the journey. That way I can try and find out where her parents are."

Leah's POV

I woke up to an unfamiliar place.
A tall blonde woman was sitting on the other side of the room on her phone. I think she noticed the panic in my face as I opened my eyes because she immediately rushed over and knelt down beside me. She wiped the tears off my cheeks which I didn't even realise were there and wrapped her arms around me. I crawled into her arms and let her hold me tightly.

"Hey remember me?" She whispered. I nodded slightly, remembering she was the woman which found me in the car. "Ok then baby. I'm going to help you find your parents, but I'll need you to tell me where you're from, Ok?"

"New York." I mumbled.

"Wow, you were in the car for a long time then, weren't you?" She says. I nod my head but I keep it in her chest. She tries to put me down but I wrap my arms around her neck and hold on. She lets me and sits down, with me still on top of her.

"Where are your mommy and daddy, baby?" She asks. I start to cry, I didn't want to talk about it. Instead, I just hold onto her tighter. She tries to get me to speak and let go but I didn't want to. If I told her about him, maybe she would find him and I'd have to go back.

Taylor's POV

Leah wasn't letting go of me or telling me anything. I didn't know what to do, how was I meant to help her if she didn't give me any information? I decided to call the police after she fell asleep in my arms. Maybe she had been reported missing already.

I ended my phone call with the police. She had been reported missing but the man which had reported her had been arrested for drink driving. I cried a little to hear this but I stopped for Leah's sake. The police gave me temporary custody of the child whilst they searched for more information on her.
