Adam's POV
It made me sick to see how beaten up that little girl was. Who would do that to such an innocent little kid?
I waited for Taylor to get Leah dressed so we could talk. She put the two year old on our bed to watch TV and walked out the room to come and talk to me.
"Tay..." I started. "the police called."
"And?" She asked nervously.
"They want us to bring Leah to the station as soon as possible. Temporary custody can't be given to just anyone unless it's an emergency. Since we aren't related to Leah, we can't keep her with us." I explain. She nods sadly.
"I'll go get her ready then." Is all she says before walking back through to our bedroom.
-----
We briefly told Leah what we were going for, but all she knew was that we had to speak to someone to keep her safe. Taylor got her to understand that she wasn't going back to the man which , we presumed, was her father.
It was easy to get Leah out of the house and to the station because wherever Taylor went, Leah went. She was very attached to Taylor. Although she was still scared to speak a lot, she would hold onto Taylor all the time. From what I could see, Taylor really liked the fact she was so clingy. Although we were both worried about the fact she was scared to talk and that she would be shaking from terror.
We got into the car and drove down to the police station. Taylor rubbed Leah's back whilst I placed my hand on Taylor's knee.
"She'll be fine, Taylor." I whisper, noticing the two year old had fallen asleep.
"I don't know Adam. You saw how beaten up she was..." She replied.
"And now they're going to look after her well." I said. She sighed sadly and stroked the little girls hair. I could tell that bringing the baby to the police station and handing her over to authorities was bothering Taylor, a lot more than she was trying to show. She had grown attached to the little girl and had rarely not been holding her for the past night.

Leah's POV
Taylor was stroking my hair in the backseat of the car when I woke up. We had just gotten to the police station and we were about to get out. I liked it when Taylor stroked my hair, it made me feel good.
I wrapped my arms around her neck and held it as tightly as I could so that she wouldn't leave me. I didn't want her to leave me.
"Good sleep?" Asked Taylor. I buried my face into her neck. She smelt nice and she was warm. I didn't want to answer in case I said the wrong thing and then I'd get hurt for it. It was better to just not say anything, then there was no chance of getting hurt.
"Are you ok?" She asked. I didn't want to answer again so I just clung onto her tighter and kept my face in her neck.
It got warmer. We must be inside now. I could hear Taylor and Adam talking to people whilst we were walking down corridors. Then we stopped. I was still hiding my face in Taylor's neck.
I could feel someone grabbing me.
I screamed and I kicked and I cried but they kept trying to pick me up.
They kept trying to take me but I didn't want them to. I clung onto Taylor really tight.
"Baby, it's ok." Taylor spoke into my ear. "They just want to hold you to keep you safe." I continued to cry and I would scream if someone tried to take me off of Taylor's shoulder. She made me feel safe so I didn't want to be taken away from her.
They kept trying to take me. Why wouldn't they just stop? I didn't want them to take me.
