Taylor's POV

It was getting late so I took her up to the spare bedroom. I had asked Adam to stay distant from her as she was already scared enough and having multiple people around her might scare her more. She also mentioned something about not wanting to go back to him so I felt maybe it was best not to have her stay around a man for now as it could cause her to panic.

I managed to put her into bed without waking her. I then left and walked into the master bedroom, where Adam was lying on the bed on his phone.

"Hey Adam." I said.

"Hey Taylor, how is She?" He asked, sitting up.

"She's been quiet. She's been holding onto me for the past couple of hours and I finally managed to out her down. She hasn't been answering my questions and she usually freaks out if I talk about helping her find her family." I explain. He sighs and rubs my back.

"Don't worry Tay. The police said they'd call with any new information in the morning. Her parents must be looking for her so it shouldn't take long to find her home." He says. I give him a half smile. He frowned and asked if anything was wrong. I was about to answer when I heard screams and sobs from the spare room I had left Leah in.

I darted down the corridor and walked into the room to find a crying little girl on the bed. I sat down beside her and she wrapped her arms around me and cried. She calmed down after a little while.

"Baby, I'm not going to go anywhere. I'm just going to get into my PJs, Ok?" She nodded and I walked into the ensuite to get changed.

I walked back into the room and lay down in bed next to her. I figured it was worth a shot to ask her some questions again. Maybe this time she'd answer.

"Who are your mummy and daddy, baby?"

"They went."

"Where did they go?"

"To the sky." My heart sank. Was she an orphan?

"He says it's my fault. They left because I caused too much t t trouble and they d d didn't w want me." She says in between tears.

"Who's the man which said that?"

"The man...I lived with him after the home with the other kids. I can't remember though... It was long time ago." She mumbles.

"Baby, how old are you?"

"Almost this many." She replies, holding up 3 fingers. I sigh. She was only 2 years old and had been through so much.

"Did you like the man which looked after you afterwards?" I asked. She buries her face into my chest and wipes her face on my shirt. I decided that I shouldn't push her otherwise she might have a breakdown.

"Goodnight baby." I whisper in the darkness.

Morning came quickly. I woke to find Leah sleeping, her arms wrapped around my body.

We were meant to have brunch with my family today. I didn't want to cancel so I thought that I could bring the little girl with me. There was no paparazzi in nashville anyway, so it should be fine.

She started to stir and I stroked her hair. She had beautiful blonde locks and piercing green eyes.

"Morning." I say as she wakes up. I get up and she continues to hold onto me, her little head resting in the crook of my neck. "Breakfast?" I ask. She nodded and I walked down the stairs ,with her on me, into the kitchen.

She refused to eat but I didn't worry too much since we were going out for brunch. I managed to get her to drink a cup of chocolate milk instead. She was very clingy. I didn't mind too much but I was worried as to why she was always scared and so guarded.

Just at that moment Adam walked in. Leah screamed and jumped off the stool. She fell badly onto the floor but got up and kept running towards the door. She started banging against it, screaming at the top of her lungs.

I ran over and scooped her up. She tried to wriggle free but I held her tightly.

"It's ok, baby. That's Adam, he's my friend." She calmed down a little when she realised she was safe in my arms and that Adam wasn't going to hurt her. It made me wonder what had happened to her in the past .
