The man stood and stared at us. He was tall and clearly old, his skin
clinging to his bones making him look even creepier than a normal
weird person. His hands were in the pockets of his white lab coat, and
his shirt underneath was a blueish grey."The alien is quite a coward, hm?" He smiled, I could see that this
man was clearly insane.I couldn't think about that right now, Jeremy was still gone. I had to
know what happened to him. "Where'd you take Jeremy?!" I shrieked."Don't you worry, little miss. He's perfectly stored where he
belongs." His eyes widened, "The trash" He cackled."Don't you dare!" I couldn't get out of the cell to stop whatever they
were going to do, but I could distract this lunatic as long as
possible with words.
What would this man to do Jeremy? To Mack? The maniac Scientist pulled his right hand out of his pocket, and in
his pocket was a small remote. He pressed a button, and bursting
through the door came androids, just like the ones in my mom's lab,
they were leading a struggling and sparking Jeremy. He didn't have a
shirt on anymore, but the fake skin was still torn off, it almost
unsettled me to realize I grew attached to a robot, but it wouldn't
stop me from wanting to keep all of us safe."Jeremy!" I clung to the bars, nearly falling out of my wheelchair. He
could get us out of here no problem, right? He was the same as the
others, just customized, just as strong. He only looked over at me for a second before starting more attempts
to get out of the other robot's grips. Even though I could clearly see
how artificial he was, his face looked so weak. He truly was
struggling in their grasp. They were too strong for him.The old scientist began to speak, "The malfunctioning prototype
android isn't strong enough to escape his replacements huh?" He
laughed, "Not surprising, these designs are much more work capable
than you ever were. They'll never think on their own."The man pressed another button, and the androids forced Jeremy onto a
nearby table, holding him down effortlessly despite his thrashing and
kicking. I couldn't help but think of Jeremy as a human like me. He
showed fear of the scientist and the androids. He showed regret and
guilt of what he'd done under their influence. He wasn't hollow like
his design was supposed to be, he could feel, I knew it.
I especially knew that when the scientist strolled to the table above
him and opened a door on his exposed chest. Fear and...shame spread
over Jeremy's face as he looked at me, before turning away."Stop it!" I banged the bars, this maniac wasn't going to reset my
friend. Jeremy just learned what it meant to look for help, to desire
things. He couldn't take that away! The psychopath turned around, "You don't like seeing your robot friend
being fixed? A shame, I'm simply repairing his broken parts." He
looked back down at his test subject.Mack was still hiding from the light. There was no doubt she was next
to be experimented on. I needed to stop this, I had to do something.
I slipped out of my wheelchair, relying on my upper body strength to
help me crawl across the ground to the door of the cell. I reached for
the lock, but to no avail. The psycho started to speak again, "Would you like to see what your
friend is made of, little miss? Maybe then you'll understand why he
isn't like you."He had the androids for Jeremy to sit up on the table, what I saw was
both disgusting and intriguing at the same time. The fake skin of his
chest was already gone, but inside the metal door to his torso
was...was..."Not so inhuman after all hm? Quite disgusting, a robot running on a
human heart." The scientist laughed.A single human heart resided in Jeremy's chest, connected to
countless wires of red, blue, green, and yellow. Behind the wires was
nothing but metal slates of his motherboard. The crazy man was right,
it really was disgusting. How could anyone build something like that?
That was someone's heart at one point, what kind of energy did it even
supply?"Thank God it was the scrapped design," He grinned and placed a finger
on one of the red wires, "To much room for error." He ripped it,
Jeremy's eyes went black and he fell limp onto the table."NO!" Even though it was the most gruesome thing I had ever seen, it
made Jeremy all the more human."Don't worry your head little miss, I haven't killed him...yet" He
turned to the androids who were waiting for orders to follow, "Fetch
the alien"Mack's head shot up in alarm, and she rose just to scurry as far back
into the cell as she could go. The robots grabbed her, trying to take
care of all of her tentacles, but she wouldn't stop fighting. She
clawed and slashed and skinned the androids."You're sick!" I shrieked. I felt so helpless, I couldn't do anything
to save them. I could feel tears stream down my face as Mack was
forced out of her cell, her efforts wasted."Just you wait!" The lunatic replied.
I couldn't do a thing, I wasn't even in my wheelchair anymore. I was
useless, my screams weren't doing anything. I couldn't let him hurt
them, but I couldn't do anything. I let go of the bars, laying on the
ground, I let my face slam the ground. Nothing I did from inside this
cell mattered. My friends were going to die and I couldn't do a thing
about it.
Mack was kicking and grabbing at the bars but her attempts weren't
even fazing the lifeless robots. She was hissing and snarling at them,
but they were hollow, they felt no fear of her. It was horrifying."I'm not doing this again!" She cried out.
The scientist noticed my helplessness, and calmly sauntered over to
me, "You can't help your poor friends, so sad that little miss hero is
handicapped. I bet she'd even be able to escape...if she could walk!"
He howled.I spit on his shoes, that was all I could do, although He found it
just as disrespectful as trying to kill him."You need to get control over your anger little miss." He bent down,
squatting, and tugged my hair through the bars, "You'll never know who
you'll bother" He let go and got up, standing above me.
