It was around 8:00 pm, my mom was at work. She didn't see Mack, that
was a good thing. She couldn't know I was keeping an alien in the
house. When I was thinking of what to do with Mack, I was cut off by
her wearily inspecting everything. She flipped the switch for my lamp
on and off almost three times, and kept double checking to see if
anything but clothes was in my closet. She looked under my bed
countless times, and nearly broke my phone trying to turn it on. The
end result of her annoying curiosity, was that my room was a mess. Had
she really not seen these human things?"Hey, what are you looking for-" A knock on the door in the main hall
rang through the air. "Nevermind, just stay here. I don't know who
that is."Mack nodded as I rolled out of my room and towards the door. The pale
brown walls whizzed past as I accidentally went too fast. Bam, right
into the door. I shook the crash off, moved backwards, and opened the
door slowly.
Standing there was a guy. He looked even taller than Mack, almost
8"1, and has light brown hair. It was perfectly combed, not a single
hair out of place. He was wearing a white button up dress shirt, and
seemingly pressed black slacks. His skin was pale, almost ghostly
white. He had rectangular, thick, black glasses on, but what really
made him stand out was his eyes. His irises were a bright, glowing
red. His shoulder were wide and sharp, his cheekbones angled in equal
proportions on each side. He was averagely sized weight wise, his arms
decently muscled and his stomach flat. I only know that because his
shirt was clinging to him for dear life. He stood tall, back straight,
head bent down as he started to speak."My sensors picked up an unknown species at this location, I take that
this is a safe place for unnatural things?" He head crocked sideways,
his eyes met mine. This guy was insane. What sensors, why were his eyes like that? How
did he know about Mack? "Uh-"He let himself in, just walked right past without even closing the
door behind him. His movements were robotic and uneven. Each step
having a different angle and velocity as the next. The boy strolled
through the hallway, and took a quick turn at the door to my room. He
swung the door open, and went in.
I rolled over as fast as I could, just to see Mack curled up and
hissing at him on the bed. I mean, the guy was just standing still a
few feet away from her."Get out of here you machine" She spat, "People only"
"I am a person" He replied in a monotone voice.
"Alive people, you sick thing!"
That was harsh. Why did they hate each other? What did she mean by
alive people only? Obviously he was a person, and if he wasn't alive
he wouldn't be here.
The boy turned around, and looked at me before turning back at Mack
still in a ball on the bed. She was still snarling at him. Her knees
were pressed up against her flat chest and close as they could go, her
main arms wrapped around them. Her tentacles were wide and ready to
rip, she was really scared of him. But why?He took a step towards her, and she hissed even louder, "I have no
intentions of hurting you 48."Why did he call her 48? Was that nickname? They clearly already knew
each other, so was that a pet name or something?"You disgusting androids don't know what intention means!" Mack yelled.
His head lowered, looking at the ground. "I can understand your hatred
towards my kind, but we aren't at the lab anymore. I believe it would
be kinder to our host to not fight in their living quarters.""Like being kind means anything to you," Her voice was less sharp than
before, as if she was ready to give up on being mean to him."That is correct, I am not entirely sure what it means or how it
works. However, I know the definition and that suffices.""No it doesn't!" She sprung up, pouncing on him and began attempting
to rip him apart. Her claws were scratching and maiming, specifically at his face. She
was gashing holes in his shirt, and stabbing his arms. He was standing
still, not showing any signs of pain, let alone the agony those
attacks probably were. The weirdest parts, though, was that when she
slashed his arms, he didn't bleed. I had to do something, I couldn't
just let these two duel it out in my room!"Hey!" I shouted above snarling. They didn't hear me. "HEY!" I
basically screamed at the two.Mack instantly stopped in her tracks, lifting her head from focus and
looked at me. The unusual guy simply turned around and paid attention.
I wasn't ready for what I saw, not at all.
His face was ripped apart, skin handing off but instead of revealing
blood or bones or what you would normally see, it was metal. Plates of
silver material, bolts and nails keeping them together. Around his
eyes and mouth, fake skin still stayed attached to the cold hard
surface beneath. This guy I had let into my house was a robot! His
unfeeling, blank, eyes were in contact with mine. They closed, and
his, previously a brow, furrowed."I can determine I am unwanted by both inhabitants. I will leave." He
began to move, but I blocked the way."Why did you come, exactly?" I inquired.
"I...to put it simply, I am trying to not go back where I came from.
Unfortunately, I will just have to go somewhere else for help. Excuse
me-""Stay." I responded on a whim. It wasn't very smart of me to keep and
alien and a robot who hated each other in my house, especially with my
mom home during the day. But this thing, I knew he didn't want
trouble, he wanted out of it. He seemed just as tortured as Mack."What?!" Mack exclaimed, confused, "You're going to let HIM stay with
us?! He's a protocol droid built by humans to capture and bring back
anything that isn't human! He doesn't feel anything like we do! Just
orders! I can't let him take me back, I won't let that happen!" She
was frantic and panicked."One question," I said to him, "What's your name?"
He looked surprised by the question, well, as surprised as pieces of
metal with eyes and a mouth could look. We were going to have to fix
his face, it was starting to creep me out."I do not technically have a name like you do, but I had decided that
for undercover reasons I would go by Jeremy. Is that okay with you?""Perfect. Let's uh, let's fix you up. You're really creepy like that."
I led him to my wreck room, it was definitely a wreck. I used that
room to do art things, painting, drawing, writing, I was bound to have
something for him.I was scrounging through my body art drawers. Painting on yourself is
fun when you have nothing else to do. After almost ten minutes of
making everything look even messier, I found my chunks of scab. They
were made like skin, mainly for when you cosplay as something with
skin hanging off, like a zombie or whatever. I grabbed the thicker
pieces, and held it up towards his face."These will do." I nodded my head and turned towards the desk so I
could fit them to his face.Reaching into my desk, I grabbed my tape measure, and motioned for
Jeremy to get closer so I could measure his face. When he did, I had
to have him sit down to be at level with me. I got the numbers, and
started to cut the scab, making sure to have it exact so I didn't
waste it. The plastic material cut easily, and when I finished shaping
it, I dripped glue on."This will make you look just a good as before," I explained as I
placed the scab on his face perfectly. Same shade and everything.
"There you go, good as new." Then I noticed the lines between his
previous skin and the new stuff. "Hold on"I undid my wheelchair brakes, and rolled towards my mom's room, she
had a ton of makeup in there. I went in, and headed over to her
dresser. On top was a full kit, you could look like a barbie with all
this stuff. I grabbed concealer, and went back to where Jeremy was
patiently waiting. I had him sit again, and used the beautifying
material to cover up the skin divisions on his face. That was when he
looked normal again."Now you're good." I smiled and let him stand again.
"Thank you." He commented.
"No problem, just don't go losing your face all the time. This stuff
is expensive." I looked over at the leftover scab I was going to use
on halloween.
