We Made It Back Home

"We did it Regina, we finally made it!" I said to Regina as we touched American soil. We were both crying and just celebrating at the fact that after so many years we finally made it back home. I wanted to call Emma and let her know that I was alive and back in America but I wanted to surprise her. Although she might have found out that I'm back already, I mean news and gossip travels fast.

We were in New York and I went to my apartment, luckily they hadn't kicked me out so we were able to stay there until tomorrow morning, I had to go to my company to see what's going on. Regina and I were sitting on my couch, just trying to relax after enduring so much throughout these years.

I couldn't help by think of Tink. She sacrificed herself so we could escape. I felt bad but there was no other choice, we had to come back. I shook my head and tried to clear my mind. I look over at Regina and she smiled at me then she sighed.

"Killian are you sure you don't want to stay here?" I give her a weird look. "Regina I have to go back home, I need to see my wife and my kids, oh they must be so big now." She sighs. "What if she's with someone else, what if she doesn't love you anymore, you're just going to go get your heartbroken." I gave her a weird look.

"Regina, Emma loves me. I doubt she fell in love with someone else." She sighs. "You never know." I scoff. "Killian, all Im saying is that we've been together for all this time, why don't we give us a chance, please?" I sigh. "Regina we've been over this, I can't correspond to your feelings, I do love you but not in that way, I'm sorry." She nods.

I check the time and it's time for me to go to the company. "Regina just stay here, I'll be back soon, ok?" She nods. I walk out the door and made my way to the company. As I was walking to the company, I couldn't help but feel a bit guilty about leading Regina on. We've been through so much that we did find comfort in each other but I couldn't come to love her, the only one in my heart is Emma and I don't think I can let anyone in.

I get to the company and everyone is in shock. Everyone came to greet me and were beyond happy to see me. I made my way up to my old office to talk to the man who was taking my place. I walk in and I find Ward sitting there. I smiled, he was the man who I appointed to take my place in case Ruby and I couldn't lead the company.

"Killian?" Ward asked as he got up. I nodded. He walked up to me and gave me a hug. "I thought you were..." I leaned back and sighed. "We escaped, it was all a plan to get rid of me." He gasps. "Who was behind it?" He asks as he goes to sit back down. "Peter." He gasps. "What?" I nod. "He wanted me dead." He shakes his head. "I can't believe this..." I nod.

"So I'm assuming you're here to..." I laugh. "No I'm not here to take your place, I just want to make sure everything is good before I go back to California." He smiles. "Eager to see Emma huh?" I smile. "You have no idea." He smiles. "Well you're in for a surprise." I gave him a weird look. "A surprise?" He nods. "You don't know?" I shook my head. "Well of course not you've been gone, well Emma..." He then stops.

"How about I let you find out." I nod. I wonder what he meant that I'm in for a surprise? Well he might mean in how big my kids are,? Then yes I'm in for a big surprise. "Ok as for the company, everything is good, we've done many events and our production is good, we've even changed some machines to be more eco friendly which has saved us money." I nod. "And the company is still under your name, I mean now that you're back and alive." I nod.

"You will still be getting your pay." I laughed. "Thanks Ward." He nods. "So I guess I can go with a sound mind knowing you're taking good care of the company." He smiles then his smile fades. "If you need a job you can always come back, you know in case things don't work out." I gave him a weird look. "What do you mean?" That's when he gets a call. He answers and excuses himself.

"Tell you what just keep me in the loop, I need to get back to Cali." He nods. "Bye Killian." I nod and made my way back to my place. As soon as I got home I find Regina asleep. I smiled. I covered her with a blanket and sat down on the couch. As I was sitting there I couldn't help but wonder why Ward made me that job offer. I shook my head and closed my eyes.

Time passes by and it was finally time to go to the airport and go to California. We arrived to the airport and boarded the plane. The nerves were getting the best of me, I just wanted to get off this damn plane and just hug Emma and my kids.

We finally arrived to California but it was late so Regina and I booked a hotel. We slept soundly through the night and it was finally morning. The day I had longed for since I crashed on that bloody island has finally arrived. I get dressed and that's when Regina stops me at the door.

"Regina what are you doing?" "I can't let you go see Emma." I chuckle. "Why not?" She sighs. "She's married." I chuckle. "Well of course, to me, now if you'll excuse me," I say and slowly moved her to the side. She pushes me back and I sigh. "Regina..." She walks up to me. "She had a baby with another man." I give her a weird look. "What?" She nods.

"Back when Tink and I had gone to get the plans for Peter's and Gold's compound we saw a video of her, at your house and she was pregnant was pregnant." I gasp. "No how can this be?" She sighs and caresses my cheek. "See she doesn't love you anymore, she moved on and you should too." I pulled away from her.

"No you're lying to me." She sighs. "Im not I just don't want you to get hurt, why bother going back, they already think your dead, so why open up that wound again." I grabbed my head. I couldn't take in everything that she was saying. "I have to go see for myself." She grabs my arm.

"Killian please I love you, just stay," she says and I snap. "Why didn't you tell me this before, why did you keep this a secret from me Regina?" She stays quiet. "Answer me Regina!" I scream. She sighs. "I didn't want you to be heart broken, you had such high hopes in returning to Emma's arms that if I told you she had moved on you would have given up trying to escape the island." I sigh and started to walk away.

"That little baby is around 4 years now and you will find that man in your house and you will get hurt but I will be here with open arms to take you in." I ignored her and grabbed a taxi. I got in and arrived to my house. I got out and stood outside the house for the longest. Could it be true? Was this what Ward was talking about? My head was spinning thinking of every possible scenario.

I finally got the courage and walked up to the door. I rang the door bell and the door slowly opens. When I see the person standing behind the door, I am left speechless.
