Life Never goes as Planned

Struggling

It's been really hard since Killian left to New York and I haven't been myself lately. I've been having nightmare after nightmare of me dying and no one being able to take care of my little ones. Although it has been nice to be independent again but then again I miss having someone at my side.

Well the good thing about him being in New York is the fact that he's not alone. I mean he told me all about his partner Ruby. She's a gorgeous woman and seems to be his friend. She doesn't worry me a bit but I can't help but feel a little jealous that she's with him. I trust Killian completely but who knows about Ruby. I've heard things about her now that FA is associated with Killian's company but there's no use in me stressing out about it.

I'm sitting in my office going over some of my designs for our winter collection and that's when I get a call. I look at my screen and it's my love. I put my pencil down and answered.

"Killian!"

"My love how are you doing?"

I couldn't help but blush when he says my love.

"I'm doing good you know just working on our winter collection."

"Oh that's wonderful, and how are the kids?"

"They are wonderful, they are at the day care you know as always."

That's when I hear him sigh.

"Emma..."

My smile fades. "What's wrong?"

He sighs. "Love I won't be able to come home for thanksgiving."

I sigh. "Oh how come?"

"That day we have an event and well we are campaigning our winter issue throughout the whole weekend."

"Oh I see." He sighs.

"I'm sorry I really wanted to go back home to be with the kids and you."

I sigh. "It's ok I understand, I know how it is."

He sighs. "Emma..."

That's when I over hear someone on the phone.

"Killian come on we have to go back to your apartment to get ready for the social."

Who the hell was that? "Killian, who..."

"We will leave in a sec Ruby."

I gasp. What the hell? What did she mean, going over to his apartment? I closed my eyes and tried to relax.

"Love you Emma."

I smiled.

"I love..." And that's when he hangs up.

I turn off my phone and placed it on my desk. I couldn't even say I love you back to him. I am so not liking Ruby. I leaned back and tried to relax. After a couple of minutes relaxing I get back to work. Well what I can do is go to Hawaii to go see my in laws, and besides Lacy is not going to be here she's in England so yeah.

Killian's POV
Ruby and I quickly arrived to my apartment to get dressed for tonights cocktail social. Ruby placed her things down on the couch as I go and put mine on the table.

"I am so sorry Killian that I keep crashing at your place it's just my place is so far away and your like a minute away from the company." I nod. "It's ok Ruby." She smiles. "Ok so Im going to go take a quick shower if that's ok?" I nod. "Sure go on ahead, the towels..." "Are in the left cabinet, I know." She says and I laugh.
