Thranduil stands tall, towering above me. I've been told for 190 years that my mother and father died fighting Orcs. That was the most honorable way to go after all, but they were wrong. They must have been lying. my father is lord of all Elves and my mother was a servant in his house, mother of Tauriel. I've never met Tauriel but from what I've heard she's wonderful, but she threw it all away for a dwarf. I will never dishonor Thranduil like that.
"Will I live with you now?" I ask sheepish, worried I might say the wrong thing.
"I suppose, now that you are next in line for the throne." he sighs, pained. He is ashamed of me, I try to hide my disappointment. "Come." I follow obediently. He walks along many high walkways until we come to a pair of large oaken doors.
"You will sleep here." He waves his hand absentmindedly over a large bed surrounded by fireflies keeping the dark room light. "And you can wander through these areas." He walks though an enclosed walkway passing a library, a dining room, an office, and a sitting room.
"I will now take my leave." He says, going back through the doors.
"Goodbye" I add, but he is too far to hear anymore.
