Emily•

The truth is that I've been in constant contact with West and Eldon. James would talk to me every now and then but ever since the middle of last year, he stopped answering my calls.

West said that I reminded him of Riley which was odd because my little sister was nothing like me. Except for the fact that I am her sister.

Ever since last year, I've seen James as a brother after how long Riley and him have been together. I've seen the way he looks at her and cares so much for her. I've also seen the way Riley looked at him. Recently, all she ever talks about is him.

I've been avoiding going to where the boys are staying for a few days now. I know that delaying it will do nothing in the end because eventually they will see each other again.

But I'm not sure if Riley or James are ready for this.

"Emily, let's go,"

Riley•

Emily drove through the roads of Canada. She told me they were living a couple of hours away which saddened me because they were so far away from Toronto. I thought maybe they would be only a ten minute trip away but I was wrong again.

Maybe them being so far away was a sign. Maybe James doesn't want me anymore, maybe he's moved on.

As we drive on the deserted highway, Emily suddenly takes a right onto an off-road lane.

"Where are we going?" I ask

"We're here, Riley," She answers

"In the middle of nowhere?" I exclaim nervously

Why are they staying all the way here? Emily glances at me but continues to drive forwards. Soon, a cottage comes into view and I relax slightly. At least James is going to be near me again.

She parks the car near the door and kills the engine. I get out and approach the door nervously. Emily knocks on it and we hear voices on the other side.

"Eldon, get the door," I hear West's voice

The door opens and West stands in front of us, Eldon close behind him. I see how mature they look now, Eldon has weak facial hair and West has cut his hair.

"Hey," West greets and hugs Emily and I, "Long time no see,"

I nod, "I've missed you guys,"

They step aside and let us in. The fireplace is going as winter approaches us again, it's nice and cozy inside.

"Why are you guys so far away from the city?" I ask curiously

Eldon glances at West, "James... doesn't like the city,"

"Yeah, yeah, um, too much noise. It gets hard to concentrate on what, you know, is important in life," West continues on

Emily and I nod slowly as if we understand what they mean by that. There's a short silence.

"Maybe because the pain is too much," A voice fills the silent room.

I turn to face the living room, it's James.
