All I Want

I rub my sore muscles, It's been awhile since I've danced or taught dance to students. Miss Kate laughs as she sees me looking pretty tired in her office.

"Are you alright there, Riley?" She smiles

I nod, "Yep, in perfect condition,"

"I know your shift is over here at the moment but could you perhaps stay behind? I usually get Chloe to do the paperwork but she went to go to the airport to pick someone up,"

The paperwork has always been an exhausting thing for me to do while I was studio head, last year. There was so much to sign and organise, which usually I am good at, but the amount of stress and pressure got to me.

It gives me a flashback of everything that has happened after I took up that position; everything I lost...

Miss Kate hands me a pile and walks over to the schedule on the wall, "I've got to go to a meeting with the people downstairs at the juice bar, could you manage things for a bit here?"

I nod again with a smile and grab a pen from the desk, I scan my eyes on the sheet of paper. I give up after awhile and just sign the bottom of it where it says signature.

Ten minutes into the work and I find myself glancing at my phone on the desk. It's been nearly a week since I've talked to James and of course I have attempted to talk to him but Emily always answers.

She always tells me the same things and that just worries me more. She tells me that he is going okay, he has eaten or whatever, he has stopped drinking and making progress on other things. Emily doesn't let me talk to him personally.

Noise from down the hallway make me lose concentration on my work and I sigh, sinking back into the chair. The noise gets louder and I stand up, going to find out who is there.

I take note that the walls need to be repainted soon, the previous layer is peeling off and won't be very attractive soon. I've just realised how old this building is and how I spent my whole childhood here. It's amazing how time flies, from me being a small kid from Baby Ballet to being a teacher.

I turn the corner and nearly run into Chloe, "I'm sorry!" I tell her and she just laughs.

"Riley! Guess who's back?" She asks excitedly

"Who?" My heart beats, wondering if James has come here.

"Hey Riley," Stephanie comes up from behind Chloe and gives me hug.

"I've missed you," I tell her in surprise, "What brings you back home?" I ask

"Oh, didn't Emily tell you?"

I raise my eyebrow in curiosity, "Tell me what?"

"I'm hosting a reunion party for everyone who has been in A-troupe over the years," Stephanie replies, "I invited everyone and they said they can make it,"

I smile, "That's a great idea,"

Then my smile drops. Everyone is coming... Everyone including James and Alfie.

guess who's back? briggs is back! my assessments are all done and I have a bunch of free time that I want to spend on writing.

However, I won't update as I usually have, so unfortunately updates will be slower. This is because I'm doing a writing competition here on Wattpad called the Wattys and I'm writing a book on my main account at the moment.

I'm so glad to be writing again, hope you guys enjoy more things that are coming!
