"Riley, we have to go back home tomorrow," I tell my little sister as we sit down on the porch together with a cup of tea in our hands

She looks at me confused, "Why? We don't come back in another week for work,"

"Miss Kate is running out of staff for this weeks shifts so she needs us to fill in, or at least you," I say. I'm not a part of the staff at the studio, I only came there to help Riley.

Riley places her tea down, "But- but James isn't better yet. I can't just leave him, I promised and I'm not turning back from my promise,"

"I understand that but West and Eldon are here to look after him as well. James has improved dramatically over the week, he's nearly off his alcohol,"

"No, James needs me! West and Eldon couldn't help him before, why do you think they can help him now? What happens if James sinks back into what he used to be when I leave again!" She shouts

My sister is so stubborn and I'm glad that West, Eldon and James are still sleeping, "Riley calm down,"

She sighs and sits back in her chair, "I don't want to leave him again, Emily,"

"You have two options, first one is you go back home and I'll stay here with James to keep an eye out for you. Second one is you take James with you,"

I see her eye the ground, weighing up the options, "I mean the second one is good. James would be able to see his family again but... I doubt he would want them to see him in his current state. So that means..."

"That you are going," I finish for her, "I'll drive you there and then come back here. I'll keep you contacted with what's going on with James, keep him in his exercise, diet and wean him off the drugs,"

Riley nods, I can tell that she's not entirely convinced but at least she nodded. Now, we'll have to tell James.

I glance at her and she sighs like she's read my mind, "I'll tell him as soon as he wakes up," Riley says and gets up to go back inside.

To be honest I'm actually scared for Riley. When she brought up that James might go back to the way he was when she leaves, made me uncomfortable. It's like she's scared that it would be her fault again but it's also scaring me that this situation is making their relationship seriously unhealthy.

I guess I'll have to talk to her about it.

I hear people talking inside and glance through the window to see James and Riley chatting.

"Good morning, Ri,"

"Morning," My sister's face lights up when she sees him but then it drops, "Hey can I talk to you?"

James nods, "Of course,"

Riley leads him down the hall and I watch as they go out of view. If Riley knows best, she needs to let him go.
