Stronger than before...

Is That Really You?

~Two and a half Weeks since Tyler and Pierce were kidnapped~

"Ow ow ow" Theresa said as she winced in pain and slammed on the breaks of the car.

"Woah are you okay?" I asked scared for my own life and hers.

"Yeah" she said as she took a deep breath and held onto her the steering wheel "The baby is just kicking"

"Maybe we should take a break" I said worried "Or you could teach me"

"No no it's fine" she said as she took another deep breathe and continued driving "We can stop near Washington"

"Okay" I said trying to hide that I was nervous

Theresa and I had been on the run for a couple of weeks now, and to be honest I'm surprised we made it this far.

We had a plan to try an get Pierce and Tyler back. We were originally going to go and see if the hilltop could help us, but Negan had ordered Saviors to sit outside and guard it.

Negan knew Theresa was from the Hilltop, he probably had his suspicions on how Theresa and I escaped a few months ago.

After that we went and looked at Negan's compound, the amount of guards had doubled there too.

There was no way a almost eight month pregnant girl was going to be able to get in there and rescue people that easily, and I couldn't do it on my own.

So Theresa and I were making our way to Washington, we weren't running, we were just... we were protecting the baby... Atleast that's what we told ourselves.

We had to think of a new plan, we couldn't go to the hilltop and Theresa was due in a month.

Theresa had saw a sign for a group in Alexandria, we were going to try and see if they could help us.

"Okay" Theresa said as she pulled onto a street with a ton of abandoned stores "We can stay here for half the day"

"I'll scout that restaurant over there" I said as she parked the car "you stay here"

"Okay" She replied "But if your not back in five minutes I'm going in"

I got out of the car and entered the building, the restaurant had booths aligned against the wall and round tables everywhere.

There was a bar in the back, next to that was a door.

I slowly opened the door with my gun drawn, it led to a room with a couch and book case.

I sighed and made sure there was no where else anyone could be hiding.

After Theresa and I settled into the room in the back I opened Theresa bag and checked our food supply.

Shit. We were almost out.

"What's wrong?" Theresa asked as she laid down on the couch

"I need to go out scavenging" I said as I got out one of the guns I stole from a dead savior

"By yourself?" Theresa said concerned "I don't think so"

"You need to rest" I said as I handed her the gun "If I'm not back in two hours go without me"

"Clementine!" She said as she raised her voice "I can't let you go alone"

"I can protect myself" I said "don't worry, this door locks. I'll be back"

"Two hours" Theresa said being clear "you'll be back in two hours"

I nodded and put my backpack and hat on. I made my way out of the room and left the building.
