You're Family

"You have fifteen minutes" Roger said to me

I nodded and opened the door to Negans office, inside was Aj and Claudia, one of Negans wives.

"Hey Clem" Claudia said as she held Aj.

I put on hand sanitizer and she handed Aj to me.

"Hey little guy" I said to Aj.

I looked down at the kid, he was a spitting imagine of Theresa.

"He sure does like you" Claudia said trying to make awkward conversation.

Claudia had started watching Aj two weeks ago, she made sure she always took the shift when they brought me in.

Whenever I came she always attempted to help me or give me stuff.

I guess it was her pity, but I usually didn't take the things. It was usually things with a wrapper that Someone would find when they looked in my cell.

"Have you thought about my offer?" Claudia asked

Her offer was to sneak me fruits and vegetables into my cell. I declined, I was becoming so paranoid that I didn't want to take any chances. I had it in my head that she would poison me, or frame me for stealing. It's what people here did. I honestly didn't know how many more beatings I could take.

"The answers still no" I replied

"Clementine please" Claudia began "Your a child, I just want to help"

"You wanna help?" I asked taking this as a chance to ask about Daryl "I need information"

"Clem-" Claudia began before I cut her off.

"Is it true that there's a prisoner named Daryl here?" I interrupted her before she could say no.

"Well yes" She said "Why is that relevant to you?"

I took a second to think.

It had been three days since I'd last seen Daryl, I had started to believe I had been seeing things.

"You really wanna help me?" I asked ignoring her question as I put Aj in his crib "Find a way to let me see him"

"Clementine I can't" She said "I don't have that kinda power or authority"

"Yeah but you can try an sneak shit into my cell?" I snapped

She went to say something but stopped. She looked confused.

"Hey!" Roger said as he opened the door "Times cut short"

I turned and walked out of the room not saying anything to Claudia.

Roger locked me up in my cell like usual and I sat in silence.

I had gotten moved from the easy street cell, I was a floor above it.

I laid down and attempted to get some sleep, seeing how I had nothing else to do.

•THREE HOURS LATER•

"Clem!" Said a voice from outside the cell.

"What?" I asked as I woke up.

I heard the door unlock and I stood up as it opened.

Claudia stood there with a ton of keys.

"If I show you Daryl will you do something for me?" Claudia asked

"Of course" I said suddenly fully awake. "What do you want?"

Was she being serious? Was she really going to let me see Daryl?
