In this chapter Astrid is now 1 and a half years old.
Sabine's POV
We had just put Astrid in bed and tucked her in. We just got her, her very own room and a new bed. We laid down in our bed and snuggled up under the covers. We heard rain start to pour down on the patio and the roof. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
A few hours later
I was awoken by a loud crash of thunder. I looked over to Ezra and saw him waking up to.
"You okay, Sabine?" Ezra asked. Before I could respond another crash of thunder boomed making me flinch.
"I was just awoken by the thunder is all." I explained. Ezra was the only person they knew about my phobia of loud and sudden loud sounds. He pulled me close and nuzzled my nose with his. I snuggled up to him and got comfortable. We saw the door open and a small figure ran over to the bed. I looked down to find a scared Astrid. She had tears in her eyes and tear tracks down her face. I picked her up and set her between me and Ezra. She wiped her eyes and laid down. Another crash of thunder hit making me and Astrid cuddle up to Ezra.
"What's wrong Astrid?" Ezra asked. She pointed out the window with fear.
"Oh the thunder." I said.
"I have an idea." Ezra smiled. He got out of bed, grabbed the softest blanket, pillows, a movie and made some popcorn. He grabbed a pack of Astrid's baby snacks and sat on the couch. I picked up Astrid and headed to the living room.
"Ezra what are you doing?" I asked. I set Astrid down and she ran over to Ezra. I sat down and laid against Ezra.
"Well you girls are afraid of the thunder and probably won't go back to sleep until this storm passes. So, we will watch a movie and cuddle till the storm ends." Ezra explained.
"Okay, what movie did you find?" I asked.
"A Bugs Life." He answered.
"Yay!" Astrid cheered. We turned on the TV and started the movie. We were snuggled up on the couch with pillows, snacks and a blanket. When the movie ended but it was more the obvious that Astrid wasn't tried yet, the storm was slowly coming to an end.
"Well looks like the storm is coming to an end." I said.
"Den da bwitterbly blyed up!" Astrid said still hyped after the movie. She was adorable, she loved Gypsy the moth, but thought she was a butterfly. After she was done rambling about the movie she laid door on top of Ezra. She soon fell asleep and I gently stroked her lekku. I smiled at her as she slept. But soon I also fell asleep knowing that I had Ezra and Astrid with me.
