Sabine's POVI was glad to be back home, everything on the list I made was done and I was finishing dinner. Astrid sat at the table and looked to be in deep thought. My eyebrows furrow as I see Ezra looking at her with worry. I set the plates down and as I set Astrid's plate down, causing her to come back to reality. We all ate in silence, it was strange. Normally, Astrid would start up some conversation but she stayed silent. After a few more minutes, Ezra nodded towards Astrid. I got the message that he wanted me to talk to Astrid so I did.
"What's on your mind, Astrid?" I asked her. She looked up at me before responding.
"Nothing." She said with a smile. I take another bite before responding.
"What have I told you about lying?" I quizzed. She looked at the ground while chewing a bite of her dinner.
"Not to do it." She said, after finishing the food in her mouth.
"That's right. While I was cooking dinner, you were unusually quiet and you haven't talk much." I explained.
"Well, I was thinking about something I wanted to ask you." She said.
"And what would that be?" I asked.
"Well today while me and daddy were outside a loth-kitty let me pet it." She explained. I looked at Ezra and he looked slightly fear full.
"You let her play with a wild loth-cat? That could of hurt her!" I scolded.
"I was using the force to make it see she wasn't a threat." Ezra defended. I rolled my eyes at him, then looked back to Astrid.
"So what did you want to ask?" I questioned then took a drink of my water.
"Can I have a pet loth-kitty?" Astrid asked. I set my cup down as she asked.
"Having a pet takes a lot of responsibility. You have to play with it, feed it, water it, clean it, pick up after it and keep it out of trouble." I explained.
"I can do that." Astrid reassured. I sighed quietly.
"Hun, I think what your mom is trying to say is maybe when your a little bit older." Ezra said backing me up.
"Okay, how old do I have to be?" Astrid asked.
"How about, nine or ten?" I suggested.
"Okay." Astrid said. We started to continue our meal as the sun set over the horizon.
Ezra's POV
After dinner, me and Astrid started to clear the table. I wiped the table and Astrid wiped down the chairs. Sabine was loading the dish washer and picking up the kitchen. I went in there to help her and Astrid went to brush her teeth. I wiped down the counters and put the leftovers away.
"Mommy! Daddy! I'm all done!" Astrid called.
"Okay, we will be there in a minute." Sabine told her. I walked behind Sabine and rested my chin on her shoulder while wrapping my arms around her waist.
"I love you, Bine Bine." I whispered. She giggled at the nickname and placed her hands on top of mine.
"I love you too, Blueberry." Sabine laughed.
"Blueberry? Why am I blueberry?" I asked in confusion. She laughed and removed my hands and chin.
"Let's go tuck Astrid in." She said then headed to Astrid's room.
"Hey! You didn't answer my question." I said and followed her.
